How to become fluent in Spanish

The best way to become fluent in another language is to immerse yourself in that language. For example, if you lived for 6 months in a Spanish speaking country, chances are, you would pick up on the language much faster than taking a high school class for two years.

Of course, it may not possible for you to just move to a Spanish speaking country until you pick up a lot of Spanish.

In some parts of the USA, Spanish is spoken a lot more than English. Go to certain areas of big cities and you wouldn't even know you are in America, because nobody speaks English.

But not everyone lives in an area like this, or you wouldn't have a need to study Spanish would you?

If you have any Spanish speaking friends, practice your Spanish with them. Talk as much as you can in Spanish with them and only use English if you have to.

If you don't have any Spanish speaking friends, and there's Spanish speaking person you know who you can practice with, there are other things you can do.

Be sure to study A LOT. If you're not hearing the Spanish language regularly, you need to make up for that with a lot of studying.

If you get any TV channels, in Spanish, watch them. You'll begin to start picking up some more words. If you don't have any Spanish channels, there are plenty of Spanish TV shows you can watch online, such as on YouTube.

Go to penpal sites and become penpals with a Spanish speaking person so you can practice writing and reading in Spanish.

Get a study course that comes with audio so you can listen to Spanish. Rocket Spanish is a popular course you can buy online.
