Top 20 Dance and House Tracks

Welcome all to Sparta's Top 20 Dance and House Chart for July 2009.

It has been a bumper month with numerous tracks being released and as usual you know by stopping off here you will find the Top 20 releases for the month. Well, we are into the second half of 2009 and I am getting ready to do my tax return but I wanted to make sure I posted the July chart first before the government starts auditing me.

On a more somber note I would like to pay tribute to the "King of Pop", Michael Jackson, who tragically passed away last week. I know that his music has been with me as I have grown up through the years and he was a true influence on my music aspirations. Thank you for your music legacy.

Ok, now to the chart for July, the winner of the top track this month goes to Ton T.B. featuring Katie Miles with the track "Headrush" This is a great remix by Smart Apes and all though the track does take some time to get going, it is truly worth it, listen to it and you will know what I am talking about. As always there are special mentions. Congratulations to Myon and Shane 54 who have two tracks in this month's Top 20, a remix and an original. Also to Tiff Lacey for yet another track featuring in the Top 20 and to Marcie who seems to be battling it out with Tiff Lacey to see which lady can have the most tracks appear in the Top 20.

I am really happy with this chart, there are some great electro tracks with a little mix of tech house, and add to it track 2 which may seem a little out of place but every time I hear it, it just makes me smile.

Hello my friends,

I am happy to say this month I am back in my home town of Melbourne to bring you the June edition of Sparta's Top 20 Dance and House Chart. This month I have provided a great collaboration of all genres around the 130-134 BPM range. Honestly, there is something for everyone, a real potential dance floor anthem, some melodic synths as well as a couple of old skool remixes.

This month was extremely intense as I found myself short on time (I am a very busy person) and sorting over 1,000 tracks to give you a top 20 for one month can be chaotic. However, I persisted and the fruits of my labour can be seen below. This month's number one track is a very old skool remix of a Sugar Hill Gang classic. Now these guys are very 90's hip hop and Bob Sinclar has collaborated with them to bring us the Lala Song perfectly remixed by one of my favorite producers Tocadisco who we all know is responsible for some very fat bass lines. So to you guys (Bob Sinclar and Tocadisco) I congratulate you. Make sure you check out the full chart as there are some great remixes in this month's edition including a killer Spencer & Hill remix of a Paul Van Dyk classic as well as the usual suspects, another Tiff Lacey collaboration makes the Top 20 (I seriously do not know where she finds the time) as well as the new tracks from Feede Le Grand and Ferry Corsten. As a side note for the electronic music fans of the early 90's, be sure to listen to Frog and Bugle's Seven Days to Eden, as I am pretty sure you will recognize the sample.

So another month is over and it is time for me to get back to work on the Top 20 for July. I really, really enjoyed this month's chart and feel once you listen to it all you will agree it is one of the good ones. Welcome everyone to Sparta's Top 20 Dance and House Chart for May 2009. This month's chart is a very special one as I have been based in London for the past two weeks. I would love to say it has been for my music but I have been working for my day to day job. However, I have still managed to compile my chart for May so if that's not dedication, I don't know what is.

In this month's chart we see the reemergence of a few older songs that have some fresh new remixes. The all important number one spot goes to Dance 2 Trance for their uplifting track "I Believe In The Power Of American Natives 2009 (Electronative Club Mix)". I particularly like this track due to the heavy base and the use of a Native American flute. What can I say; creative samples go a long way in this industry. Make sure you also check out the remix of4 Strings - Take Me Away. We all remember how big that track was when it was first released and this remix is a fantastic follow up. Credit also goes out to Dfolt for having two remixes in the top 10 this month.

It's time to Celebrate!

Hello to everyone and welcome to a very special edition of Sparta's Top 20 House and Dance Chart. What's that I hear you say? What makes this month's chart so special? Well I will tell you. The April 2009 chart marks the one year anniversary of my Top 20 House and Dance chart, Yay!

To be honest, I only started this chart for some fun but now I have found myself spending more and more time on it to ensure that it entertains very month. Before I get into the chart, I want to thank everyone that has visited my Squidoo, my Myspace and my Facebook pages to ensure this chart stays alive because to be honest I would not be doing this if people were not following it. I also want to thank the artists who keep sending me tracks for consideration on my chart, it really does make it easier on me rather than going out and finding them myself.

So, moving onto the chart, I find it somewhat fitting that the number one title goes to a track that I feel will be right up there as one of the best releases for the year. The number one track therefore for April goes to CJ Stone with his new song Shining Star (CJ's Club Mix). It has everything a good track should, but don't take my word for it, have a listen and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Some special mentions go to Marcie and Tiff Lacey who both once again find their new tracks in the chart, so congratulations and make sure you check them out. Also I want to mention Sharam's new track as I am sure most of you will be able to pick the sample he has used. It brought back memories for me and if you don't know it, I suggest you check out the sound track to "The Wrestler" (2008).

Well what can I say; it has been a very busy month. A lot of new tracks released and as always if you are reading this you will see my Top 20 Dance and House tracks for March 2009. I would like to jump straight into it and congratulate Talla 2XLC who has picked up the highly recognized award (I wish) of number one song this month with I Know (Dirty Freqs Full Vox Mix). It is a great track which I hope you will enjoy. I must say the new track by Kyau and Albert (previous winners of my number 1 honour) that came in at number 2 could have very easily been number 1.

Hello all my little friends. Well what can I say, what a year 2008 was, there were some great tracks and hopefully you were able to find something you liked. Here I will be revealing the Top 20 Dance and House Chart for 2008 based on your votes. Over the last couple of months visitors to my myspace and squidoo pages have been voting as to their favorite chart/charts of 2008 and from that I have compiled the best 20 for 2008. Below you will find the full chart and also see which chart and number each track appeared on. So as per your votes the number one track of 2008 belongs to Laurent Wolf with Wash My World (Original Club Mix). I must admit it is one of my favorites but this chart is such a good mix (even if I do say so myself) so make sure you check all the tracks out. Hello to all my party junkies and welcome to the first chart of the New Year. Wow, 2009, it feels weird saying that. Firstly I hope you all had a great Christmas and Santa brought you everything you wanted and I hope you rang in the New Year in style as I have. Mixing up my favorite tracks from 2008 seemed a good way to start the year.

So we are up to January 2009 of Sparta's Top 20 House and Dance chart and I have actually surprised myself that it has gone as far as it has. So the number one track for the first chart of 2009 goes to Carl B with his new track Fallout (Thomas Cloud Remix). However there was some close competition from some other quality artists. I would like to give a special mention to Marcie whose collaboration with Yamin sees them take the 8 spot. The reason I am mentioning Marcie is that she has had a number of tracks with artists appear on my charts and I thought I would congratulate her.
