These are a Few of my Favorite Things

I was just a kid when I received my first camera. It was a Koday 110 mm film camera. It was always a surprise to see what kind of images appeared when the film was developed. From there I moved up to other 35mm cameras. Photography was a fun past-time but nothing I took seriously. Once I became a mom, I realized that I had an opportunity to record my family's memories. Ackkkkk! Oh the responsibility! So I decided to learn how to take photos. I purchased my first SLR camera and signed up for my first class. After that, I was hooked. Photography paired with scrapbooking became my mission. Recently I opened a Zazzle store to share some of my favorite photos and digital creations. Zazzle is a print-on-demand store where you can customize items such as greeting cards, mouse pads, stamps, shoes and more! Most of my items can be customized, and if I don't have what you need, feel free to contact me and I'll see what I can do.

Nature-Themed Zazzle Gifts

Sometimes I have to slow down to soak in the nature around me. It has become every-day scenery---my backyard, our local park, our neighborhood. When I stop and take time to look around, I'm surprised at the simple beauty that surrounds me. A crocus beginning to bloom, butterflies visiting flowers and the sun setting in the sky. Nature from my neighborhood is what you'll find on greeting cards, mouse pads, stamps and stickers.

Oh the holidays! Part of what makes holidays so exciting are the little details. I try to capture some of the decorations, foods and feelings that surround my family during the holidays.

Music-Themed Zazzle Products

Music has played an important role in my life. When I was just a little girl I remember telling my mother that my fingers were dancing under my pillow at night. That year we purchased a piano and I started taking piano lessons. I can't say I was any good but those beginnings led me to appreciate music.

My Photography Tool-Box

I shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel and a 50mm lens (probably 90% of the time). I have an 80-200mm zoom lens that gets used more in the summer (baseball season) and I have a 28-90mm lens (kit lens) that I use maybe once a year. I have a couple more lenses on my wish-list (like a good wide-angle lens and a 300mm zoom) but those will wait. I do all my post-processing with Adobe Photoshop Elements .
