I've got dozens of new hairs visible..., August 16, 2011

Okay, here's the deal. I started using the igrow at the end of June 2011 and as of today (August 16) have used it every other day for a total of 24 times. My hair had been thinning over the past 6 years, which wasn't so bad in the beginning because I had a massive head of thick curly hair. I've kept it short since letting the natural color grow out about 18 months ago. In the past week I can see dozens of new little hairs all along my hairline - the easiest to see right after a shampoo when the towel holds back the rest of the wet hair. I've been kind of shocked to see this much and so have begun trying to detect new growth among my old hair. My hair is now quite silver in front, with more gray pigment as it goes toward the back, but I'll keep checking. This is just the first growth I've seen clearly.

I disclose here that I've been using saw palmetto capsules for about 6 weeks because of what I read regarding its use as a DHT blocker. I also use Hewley shampoo and conditioner formulated specifically for people with hair and scalp problems. In the past I've used the Curetage system, also formulated for people with hair thining problems. I cannot claim that my new hairs are solely a result of any one thing I'm doing to try to stop the loss and grow new hair. But I'll keep on attacking my problem from those three fronts - DHT blocking supplement, shampoo & conditioner, and obviously the igrow. It's quite simple to use and has become second nature now to just make the time for it (for my use, 25 minute sessions.) I think my husband isn't so inclined to chuckle when I do my treatment now that he's seen the hairs I'm growing... Regarding the cost... I never considered it money "spent" but rather money "invested" because I had begun looking at other (medical) hair problems solutions, and the cost was restrictive for me.

Same-day edit: I was remiss neglecting to mention that the "helmet" simply sits on my head. It is not painful, or difficult, or tight. It just sits there. You can adjust the little feet that sit on the scalp, but this is no torture device! The flip-down earphones work with your ipod, (I don't have one,) but it also serves to help hold the helmet in place.

What I wanted from the igrow product was real results, and the hope that I would not actually go bald. I am a 63 year old woman who had a thick head of hair all my life, and when I started taking medication for high cholesterol and an antidepressant my hair fell out by the hands full. Well, I quit taking the antidepressant and the cholesterol drug, and losing hair continued, but not as bad. I've been using the igrow for about three weeks, and I can honestly say that I do see new hair growth. I just went to my hair salon, to get my hair cut, and the girl who cut my hair said she saw a lot of new growth around my hairline. I believe igrow needs at least six weeks of use to see results, but I can see results now after just three weeks. I hope that the igrow does what it claims to do, because there are many women out there who need a product that works. I will give another review after six to eight weeks to give an update. I would hate to see a lot of people pay $695.00 for the igrow if it doesn't have some positive results. I had reached the point that I didn't care how much it cost - I just wanted something that might work. Right now it looks like it is working.

I wish the igrow had come with more literature, about the product, and the long term use of the product. For example,(1)If your hair does grow back, do you go on a maintenance plan, if so, what is the plan?(2) If you stop using the igrow does it mean that your hair loss continues as before or worse? There are probably a lot more questions, but I will end with just these two questions.

At about 3 months, I was becoming skeptical. Then came the fourth month, and still nothing. Around month 5, I noticed two strands of hair that have not grown in years in the frontal hairline were long enough to touch my nose. I was excited, but I wasn't sure if it was my imagination. I am now at my 6 month mark and there about 20 of those hairs in the front. My hair is still thin and not the way it was 5 years ago, but it definitely looks like it did about 1 year ago. My hair changed enough for me to actually believe and continue to use it. 6 months is the minimum to see any type of result and it will only get better from here.

I have been using the igrow laser device for almost 3 months. I can tell a difference in my hair. It is thicker and you cannot see my scalp anymore. I had several places on the crown of my head that were extremely thin. As a 38 year old female who has fine hair, I became very concerned. I had two procedures completed within a 2 week time-frame that required anesthesia. This is what I think caused extreme shedding in my hair. I can now wear my hair in various styles without having to use products to cover the balding spots. I will continue to use this along with my hair vitamins. My self confidence has really increased.
