Spider Pictures, Spider Photos and Other Resources for both Adults and Children
Spider Pictures, what do you visualize when you hear the words Spider and Pictures together? If you don't like spiders would you even think of spending a day looking for them just to take their pictures? Spider Pictures, where you aren't concerned with killing them, but getting a picture of them, just to enjoy their beauty?
Charlott's Web and Ittsy Bitsy Spider are probably the most famous spiders for children, and the Black Widow, Brown Recluse, White Tail Spider are among the ones that adults think of. Adults are more worried about the poisonous aspects of spiders and their bites, while children are fascinated by how clever the spider is. Same spiders just different view points.
There are photos of Spiders here and beautiful orb webs. There are also spider links for children and different ones for adults. A one stop Spider Shop.

Spending the Day Photographing Spiders and their Webs
One day I saw this web outside the window and grabbed my camera, I just had to get the picture. It had rained the night before, and the morning was foggy and the morning dew was caught in the web. Unfortunately I couldn't get that shot, the one I initially saw....and after several shots I did manage to get this one. It was a bit hard to see at first but with a little editing this is the result. I must admit this is one of my favorite pictures...an orb spider web that was attached to the house and an avocado tree.

- White Tail Spider - Dangerous or Over Rated?
- Like me, the white tail spider is an immigrant to New Zealand. However, the white tail was not a welcomed visitor. Originating from Australia, the white tail spider is now one of the only two dangerous species of spiders found in New Zealand. (The other is the Katipo a type of Redback). The beautiful

Black Widow Female
Female Black Widow is a Poisonous Spider
Black Widow Spider
Female Black Widows are identified by the red hourglass
The Black Widow is easily identified by the red hourglass, but did you know that it is only the female that has this symbol? The male black widow is smaller than the female and he isn't black, nor does he have the hourglass symbol, and his legs are longer. No fear though because the male isn't the dangerous one, the female is. In fact not only is the female bite dangerous to humans but she is dangerous to the male as well, often times eating him after they mate.
Black widows are mostly found in the United States, in the southern and western states. They live in dark areas under rocks, in garages, under the house or in woodpiles. It's safest to wear gloves to help prevent a bite when working in any of these areas.
I was walking by my garage when I saw this black widow on a web by the garage door. Again I grabbed the camera, and took a few pictures. When the flash went off the spider scurried away only to come back a moment later. I saw the hourglass but didn't realize that because the female is usually upside down on her web that the hourglass was visible.
Spider Reflection Picture by Cee
Photo used with permission
This photo was one that was posted in the Photo by Design Online Workshop's group on Flickr. We were doing a lesson on perspectives, and I loved this one, it looked so surreal to me. The photographer, Cee, stated that she had noticed the window and when she went to take a look she saw this spider, and it's reflection.
We really can see and appreciate the beauty of spiders when we take the time to look.

Christmas Spiders are both real and legend
Colorful Spider found in Australia
Christmas Spiders....have you ever heard of these? I hadn't until I was looking for the legends of the Christmas Spider. That's when I found out this is a real spider! The Christmas Spider is from Australia and as you can see it is quite unique with 6 little spines on it's back.

Spider Spinning Web

This spider was in the process of making it's web when I looked up. It was early in the morning. I couldn't capture the web due to the lighting, so I put an emboss filter on it.
It's not a photo anymore, but it did make a nice motivational picture!

- I am not really crazy about spiders, but even I will admit these photos are exquisite! The clarity of each image is fabulous, almost too realistic for someone like me. I can still in the beauty in the creation though.
