Spiderman Mighty Mugg Spiderman is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (Aug. 1962), and was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko.

"Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman"

When Spiderman first appeared in the early 1960s, teenagers in superhero comic books were usually relegated to the role of sidekick to the series' main character. The Spiderman series broke ground by featuring Peter Benjamin Parker, a lone teenage high school student to whose "self-obsessions with rejection, inadequacy, and loneliness" young readers could relate to.

Unlike previous teen heroes such as Bucky and Robin, Spiderman did not benefit from adult mentors like Captain America and Batman; and, in fact, had to learn for himself that "with great power comes great responsibility".

Peter Parker Mighty Mugg The character of Spiderman has since gone on to become one of the most popular, enduring and commercially successful superheroes worldwide, and is not only one of my personal favorites, but one of Marvel's most famous characters and most successful selling comic books of all time.

Black Spidey Mighty Mugg There are currently three versions available. The one above (in red and blue costume) is the typical one from the comic books, while the other Black Spiderman Mighty Mugg shown is from several chapters of the stories that has grown quite popular, where Spiderman wears a black costume. Black Spidey is actually part of the Marvel Mighty Muggs Wave 3 collection.

Now there is also a Peter Parker Mighty Mugg, which displays Peter Parker with half of his face wearing the Spiderman mask. This is not actually part of the Marvel Mighty Muggs Wave 1 collection, but is an exclusive release and a collector's item that is expected to sell around $100.00 as we get closer to the holiday season.

The Spiderman Mighty Mugg, Black Spiderman Mighty Mugg and Peter Parker Parker Mighty Mugg stands at 6 inches tall. Marvel Mighty Muggs are widely popular right now because they have so much history behind the characters. Growing up in Russia, I am not familiar with so many comic book super heroes -- but my husband is an enormous fan and always educates me on the history of the characters.
