A Cranberry and Spinach Smoothie!
Is it cranberry season? Cranberries usually appear at Thanksgiving and other holiday meals that are not usually the healthiest. Sure we may add some green beans to the plate next to a jumbo serving of Turkey and mashed potatoes drowned in gravy... but where are the leafy greens and the raw, living foods? One makes you want to slumber and the other gives you the veggie power you need to be the life of the party.
Why not add a smoothie to the menu. In keeping with the Thanksgiving theme you could make it a delicious spinach and cranberry smoothie that will delight guests with its delicious taste and beautiful color. This is the perfect beverage for the health conscious, the guests who don't want to fall asleep after their meal, and any vegan or vegeterian friends you may have invited. Drink up!
Cranberry, Spinach, and Banana Smoothie

- Serves: 3-4
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 5 minutes
Here is the basic recipe, but feel free to get creative. This smoothie is raw vegan and totally yummy!
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Baby Spinach
- 1 Cup Frozen Strawberries
- 1 Cup Fresh Cranberries
- 2 Ripe bananas (Frozen is better)
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- Water
- Ice Cubes
- 1/8 Cup Flax or Hemp Seeds (Optional)
- 1/8 Cup Goji Berries (Optional
- Greens Powder (Optional)
Instructions
Blend and enjoy!

Aren't those colors lovely? You may want to set out all the lovely, healthy ingredients and let guests watch you make this smoothie so they can be amazed that they actually like to drink their spinach...
This drink combines the goodness of dark leafy greens with cranberries... which have vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, probiotics, polyphenols, flavonoids, and fiber. When eating your nutrition is too difficult then drinking it with some delicious fruit is the way to go!

- Sounds like a tasty way to get kids to eat vegetables! I don't really like anything but fruits in my smoothie but since spinach is relatively tasteless I'll give it a try.
