The Spirit of Christmas
The Title Cut on my First (and only) Christmas Album
Christmas is past. It's still many months away, but the Spirit of Christmas should last all year through. That's the theme of this album released in 2002.
That's the year I went into "The Clarks" garage in Beverly, Ohio and recorded 6 songs to put on a short Christmas Album. Four are original songs plus "O Holy Night" and a medley that includes "O Come, O Come Emmaunel" and "O Come All Ye Faithful." Clips for this album are now available online thanks to Nimbit.com! CLICK HERE give it a moment to load and then click the arrow to make it move to #2 to find links to the clips!
And don't forget to stop back often to get those clips FREE!

What is the Spirit of Christmas
What is the Spirit of Christmas? Where does it come from?
I see people everywhere searching trying to find.
What is the Spirit of Christmas? Where does it come from?
Is it something that comes from deep down in your heart?
Or something you search for and find?
I've been told that the Spirit of Christmas is found on a child's face Christmas morning.
Or maybe it's lights on a real Christmas tree or part of the tinsel and garland
People are seaching in presents and snow, in carols and cards that they send.
They look to the manger and candles that glow, to the searching I've found there's no end.
What is the Spirit of Christmas? Where does it come from?
I see people everywhere searching trying to find.
What is the Spirit of Christmas? Where does it come from?
Is it something that comes from deep down in your heart?
Or something you search for and find?
Many believe that Santa Claus brings the true spirit of Christmas
They think that the joy and the peace can be found in symbols, wreaths and traditions
But the true Spirit of Christmas is found when Jesus comes into your heart
He brings Love and Joy and Peace when He comes and year round Spirit imparts
And That is the Spirit of Christmas, that's where it comes from
I see people everywhere searching trying to find
That is the Spirit of Christmas, that's where it comes from
It's something that comes from deep down in your heart when Jesus is living inside.

I Celebrate
There are people who would say, we shouldn't celebrate this day
We don't know the day when He was born
And Although I know it's true I can't help but sing the news
I have to tell the world about my Savior's Birth
So I celebrate 'cause He was born in me. I celebrate He's given me the victory
Yes, I celebrate because He died for me. He lives again, I celebrate His birth . . . in me.
So while the world celebrates in vain, I will praise His holy name.
Because of all He's done and all He is to me
For the peace that the angel's foretold Is the peace I found deep in my soul
Since the Savior of the world was born in me.
So I celebrate 'cause He was born in me. I celebrate He's given me the victory
Yes, I celebrate because He died for me. He lives again, I celebrate His birth . . . in me.

The Legend of the Sand Dollar
There is an odd shaped seashell so beautiful and rare
And on it is a legend for everyone to share
It's called the sand dollar. You've seen one I suppose.
But have you heard the story how the life of Christ it shows.
Look very carefully, in the center see the star
That guided into Bethlehem Three Wise men from afar
Turn it over and you'll see a poinsettia
It's marking his nativity we're reminding of God's love
Look very closely now and hiding there you'll see
His resurrection too is marked by the Easter Lily
5 wounds were suffered by our Lord by nails and Romans swords
When He died upon the cross, and they show plainly here
Within the shell should it be broke
Five doves of peace are found
So remember why you celebrate and let peace and love abound.

The First Time He Came
(c) 1993
The first time He came it was to a manger
In a stable that's where Jesus had his birth
The first time He came He changed the course of history
The first time God came as man to earth
The first time He came There were lowly shepherds
Keeping watch over their flocks not very far away
The first time He came Angels choirs were singing
Telling shepherds good new had come that day
The first time He came the gifts that he received were from men who had traveled many miles
The first time He came those he came to save were the same who would one day take his lie
The first time He came it must have been a secret
The first time He came God only told a few
The first time He came those who came to worship
Were foreigners and folks like me and you
The first time He came He didn't come in glory
The first time He came very few believed
The first time He came they hung him on a wooden cross
'Cause the first time He came he came for me
The first time He came He had no kingdom The first time He came He was no king
He came the son of a virgin and poor carpenter But the next time he comes it'll be a different scene
The next time He come it will be in glory
The next time He comes everyone will know
The next time He comes trumpets will be sounding
The next time He comes I'm gonna go
The next time he comes it'll be no secret
The next time he comes all the world will see
The next time He comes knees will bow in worship
The next time He comes, he comes for me
The first time He came, they hung him on a wooden cross
Cause the first time He came He came for me
And the Next time He comes . . . . He comes for me.

Something New
I'm Singin' 'bout a Baby
In 2009, I wrote this song for Christmas.
We've been singing it at Sycamore Tree Church every year since.
Finally, I've taken some time to record it!
