What are the top 10 things that power your spiritual connections with yourself and the world around you?
The sections below contain 10 things that most inspire me, and touch that hidden place of love and spirit inside of me. My spiritual power connections are in no particular order, because they assist in connecting me to a divine peace and joy in different ways at different times, but they all remain in the top 10. Some of them are understandable, while some of them are personal and just downright weird. It is my hope that you will recognize some things in your life that give you a sense of joy, and no matter how odd or strange these things might be, you'll feel a little less apprehensive in sharing those emotions and feelings with the rest of the world. After all, angels may not do the trick for all of us!
Go with what makes you happy! Surround yourself with that which makes you joyous! Sing, love, dance, duct tape parts that fall off your old beat up pickup truck.
The Common Loon
The Common Loon is a large bird that lives near the water. It's collection of calls have been described as tremulous wails, eerie yodels, trilling laughs and haunting hoots. As an animal totem, the Loon represents lucid dreaming and re-awakening of hopes and dreams. The sound of a Loon aids in meditation, and if you've never heard this soulful sound, have a listen below. If a Loon comes into your contact, either by sight or sound, it is suggested that your imagination will open and opportunities will be created for manifestation of any old goals and aspirations.
I grew up in the Northeast. Though not uncommon to hear the sound of a Loon when near water, this event never lost passion for me. The sounds of the Loons would stir all sorts of unnamed and very core feelings, to which I could never fully describe with words. I could never tire of a quiet night near the water, listening as the Loons call to each other from opposite ends of a lake.

Weather
Rain, Sunshine, Wind, Hail and Fog....I love it all!
There's something about the 'elements' for me that bring out emotions....good and bad. For me, spiritual power comes from being in tune with my own emotions and not avoiding or fearing them, but being with them and allowing them to be what they are. I love warm sunshine, but I'm especially connected to rain. Perhaps it's the 'water bearer' in me. I like all types of water; oceans, lakes, streams, even ditches, and when rain is falling all around me, I experience a deep and passionate solitude.Sunshine brings a very different feeling. I feel light, open, warm and joyful. I love the power of a windstorm or thunderstorm. I love the quiet and peace that comes with the snow. Fog brings me back to my childhood which holds a plethora of different emotional feelings.
If a certain weather element makes you 'feel' something, reflect upon the spiritual meaning for you and enjoy as much of that weather as you possibly can.
My Child
I waited until my early thirties to have a child and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I feel much more stable and able to parent with a little life experience under my belt. This is not to say that other people can't be good parents at a younger age, I'm just glad I wasn't.
Each and every day, numerous times, I am in awe at the antics, behavior and overall joy that comes along with what was such a tiny package just a few short years ago. He is truly the light of my life. He inspires me, he makes me laugh, he teaches me new things each day, he has no inhibitions. He loves to learn, he loves to interact, he loves everything. He is what I aspire to be in my own life.
There are so many feelings, spiritually rooted and otherwise, that I had never felt before this little ball of energy came into my life. Having the company of a child really can be a pure blessing that cannot be explained or duplicated by anything else in the world. Open yourself up to anything a child has to offer and you will certainly understand the complexity and beauty of it all.
My Friend the Psychic!
Shar can be described in so many ways....
I met Shar during a difficult time in my life. She lives on the other side of the country, but we still speak on a near-daily basis. Shar is a psychic, intuitive, empath, healer, and so many other things. She is one of those people that when you walk into a room, you can absolutely feel the peace about her. She is amazing, and I'm blessed that she is my friend. Her best and personal favorite gift is the gift to show each person with whom she comes into contact, his or her own unique spiritual gift. She doesn't so much give answers to questions, as she does lead people to their own answers. I've worked through more pain, grief, sorrow and stuck energy with Shar than I can possibly tell you about. She's taught me how to be more intuitive, how to do my own energy work, and how to take things step by step and work through them to find my own answers.
I was so amazed by her gifts and abilities that I was compelled to create a website so that she may share her awesome spirit and light. She does charge for her work, but compared to the faceless psychic hotline companies in our midst, her pricing is extremely reasonable. She also has a very exciting and informative forum. Much of it is free to join and participate. I invite you to come and get to know Shar. Anything you might need to know about, she can probably help!

Stones, Rocks, Pebbles
Growing up in the Northeast also brought me around many rocks. With the ocean near, I was often able to hunt the beach for sea glass, driftwood and colorful and beautiful stones made smooth by years of ocean tide. I can still spend days upon hours just sifting through and picking out rocks.I went up north by air for a vacation to my home some years back. I found myself back at my old favorite spots combing the beaches for goodies. I literally had to leave clothes behind because I had found so many beautiful rocks, I couldn't fit them into my suitcase. I chose the rocks over the clothes. I felt like the Saveopotamus BEFORE he learned his lesson, but each one was so beautiful, I couldn't stop imagining the possibilities. And unlike some who are crafty by nature, I never did, and still do not have any craft projects or ideas for use of these rocks. They are simply arranged here and there in vases, on dishes, or on windowsills, and frequently I will touch one or pick it up and sit quietly in amazement at the beauty that rocks and stones hold for me.

The Moon...
The moon has always done it for me, to the point where if I get out of the car and spot the moon, I will say aloud, 'Oh look, it's the moon' to no one in particular. The moon is full of such power and has such a profound effect on the Earth, people, and events that I get giddy whenever I see it in the sky. The sight of Earth's sky companion gives me a spiritual boost of excitement, whether full, waxing, waning, or eclipsed. There's just something magestical and magical about the moon. It's depicted in art, written about in songs, and plays such an important role in our existence; perhaps more than we even realize. The moon and its phases play a significant role in many religions and rituals, and perhaps one day our children's children will even have the opportunity to take residence there.

Music, Songs, Lyrics
A large variety of songs can reach down inside me and tug at that unknown place, or send me upwards transcending spiritually toward another unknown, yet well-respected light and higher vibrational energy. I enjoy many different kinds of music, and not all socially acceptable! I receive different spiritual messages from most songs that I enjoy. Sometimes the spiritual realization comes from the lyrics, sometimes from the instrumental, and sometimes from the singer's voice. The video below is one of my favorite for providing a completely spiritual experience. Even if I'm in a room full of noise and distraction, this song has the ability to raise me up and over to a place of calm and serenity where I can nearly reach a meditative state. I have all kinds of visions, thoughts and realizations when I listen to this song. Perhaps you'll enjoy it as well.
Writing, Blogging and Social Networking
If you follow my work, you'll know that one of my passions is writing. I discovered the fact that I love to write by searching the internet for a legitimate opportunity to get paid without leaving my house every day. I've discovered many ways to utilize the internet to express my creativity, opinions and desire to spread some of the wisdom I've attained through trial and error. Fantastically, I can now work at home and make money doing something I'm passionate about. I am living the dream. I am proof that it can be done.My most favorite part about this is that I get to spread the information with anyone who is looking for make money from home. Anyone can be a writer. Some of the sites I use require articles that are grammatically correct, but others do not. I have even found a couple of social networking sites that pay for contributions. In short, if I can make money, share with others, meet new friends, and be creative, I am spiritually passionate about it. Now I get to live this each and every day.
So to some, this may seem like a shameless plug (and to those of you who follow me, you'll know I can usually find an opportunity to shamelessly plug!) but if you sincerely want to begin making money from home by writing, blogging, or contributing to a social network and meeting some great internet friends, I will provide two links that are good places to start.

My Truck
Though this is not the exact truck I once owned, it could be her lookalike. I had a 1987 Ford Ranger named Francesca. It wasn't 1987 when I owned her, either. It was only a few short years ago and this truck was the biggest piece of junk a person could ever drive. But oh, how I loved her.Frankie was the most loyal vehicle I have ever had the joy of owning. And yes, I talk about her like she was a person because at the time, she was a very valuable member of my family. I drove her over 1300 miles, full of all my junk, with no back or driver's side window, no horn, no blinkers, terrible shocks, missing half the dash, no radio, no heat, and several other problems that have no need to be mentioned. Did I mention this was in the dead of winter, and it snowed and rained the entire trip? Oh my. Well, after that, I drove her for another couple of years. She had problems, but nothing a little kick and some duct tape wouldn't fix. I don't think I put more than $150 into this truck for the entire time I owned it. You may have your opinions, but I miss her to this day.
If you own a beat up piece of crap, I suggest that you show it some praise for all that it does do right by you. Give it a name. Pat it on the butt once in a while. Show it you care. I know this sounds weird, but I had such a spiritual connection with my Frankie. She was always there for me, and in return, I would (with the help of my then significant other) push her all the way to Walmart when it came time for a new battery. She took me through some very rough times, and was my little happy light when days were gray. I chose to overlook her physical imperfections and appreciate every little thing about her.
This could be a lesson for everyone and everything in life. What you give out comes back to you, some say three times as large. I literally had love for Frankie and in return she gave me her all, even when she was tired. We should all try this out, not only with the 'jalopies' that we drive, but the friends, family, distant relatives and perfect strangers of our lives. Give as much love as you can. You won't run out of love; there's not a limited supply.
Junk, Yard Sales, Thrift Stores and Dumpster Drive-bys
I can NOT resist a yard sale, and I make it a weekly (if not more frequently) habit of checking the local thrift stores. If I'm not buying vintage stuff to sell on eBay, I'm looking for one-of-a-kind things that one may never see again! I just think it's one of the coolest things ever to stop by and pick and choose through someone else's unwanted junk. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to pay 5 bucks for a turquoise, vinyl swivel chair from 1967!I currently live in an apartment, and just about my entire furniture collection came from outside my window at the dumpster. Eww...you might be saying. Well, why eww? I've scored working 32" televisions, computer desks in perfect shape, Espresso coffee machines, the bed frame I was missing for my bed, a gorgeous vintage bureau, and tons of like-new toys for my son! If you don't have as much money as you'd like, I highly suggest glancing at the neighborhood dumpster next time you drive by. If you don't want anyone to see you, grab your scores at night! =)
I get a huge spiritual charge out of getting items for free or cheap that millions of people pay lots of money for on a daily basis. Not only am I saving my few extra dollars for things that are more necessary for the well-being of my family, like food that is actually healthy, but I'm also recycling! You may feel free to continue to pay retail prices for the items you own, but if you've ever thought about it, 'junking' really is so very much fun and can be super profitable as well!
