A Spiritual Oasis growing out of a place of great natural beauty.

Sedona turned out to be much more than just a holiday and conference to me, I found a very special spiritual place, with some of the nicest most giving people you could hope to meet. I also loved the contrast, as Sedona seems to just grow out of the surrounding desert, so organically, as though it has always been there, part of nature.

My Adventure begins in Spiritual Sedona

Stunning Sedona with something for everyone.

When I visited Sedona I was blown away by the spiritual feel of the place and did not know I was embarking on an adventure of a lifetime, which would change the way I related to the world around me.

Some people dismiss Sedona as a very commercialized tourist trap playing on its reputation as a hippie haven. The scenery is beautiful from practically every place that you visit the majestic rocks with names like Cathedral, Monument and Snoopy.

Watch out for John Wayne coming round the Hill

I kept seeing sights I remembered from the movies, very strange.

It has to be said, that all the time I spent in Sedona I expected at any moment, a bunch of cowboys and Indians to ride round the rocks firing guns, which shows that I watched way too many Westerns as a child.

The weather is gorgeous and there are a lot of activities on offer to do whether you are there to explore, be active or meditate on the grandeur of nature.

Sedona's Famous Energy Vortex, Did you Feel it Too.

An exciting way to feel in touch with the earth.

Although I went to Sedona for a conference I still had free time to explore this exciting place. Although at the time I had started practicing Reiki, I knew nothing about the vortex spots which Sedona was known for. So with friends, we went to the areas that were known for this phenomenon. I was not sure whether I was influenced by the ancient feel of this area of Arizona or that desert zone had not previously been part of my life experience but the energy I felt seemed to vibrate inside my body. I sensed a connection to the elements the air, the strange red earth which I had only previously seen on television, the azure blue sky that seems to go on forever. I felt an acknowledgement within myself that the planet Earth was a living entity.

Sedona a Place of Great Spirituality and Peace

A special place filled with people and sights that will make there mark on your soul.

Embracing this feeling, I explored the other areas of Sedona which had connections to spirituality and peace. This area was not desert which I had previously thought, so visited a lovely wooded area with a very powerful river and meditated, I felt the peaceful spirituality of nature settle around and within me. This feeling I can connect to at anytime as I carry the memory strongly with me.

Another place I visited was the huge Buddha statue on the outskirts of Sedona, I spend a number of hours meditating and admiring the prayer flags. For those that are more action packed I did fit in time to explore the Grand Canyon with a helicopter ride, a hike and a boat trip which was amazing. I enjoyed the area so much I have been back twice more, taken my mother as I definitely think it is a place to experience at least once. For me once is not enough, neither is twice I plan to go back again in the next two years
