I admire Sidther for being unselfish. I admire her effort to raise her autistic child. I know how demanding and frustrating autism can be. A few years before we were separated, my wife used to tell me the story of the autistic girl of the sister of one of her colleagues. Listening to the descriptions of the life led by the parents and the girl, I used to wonder how I would have coped if one of our children had been born autist.

Sometime later she told me that the girl had died. I had never seen her, but I felt sad. I felt that her parents had killed her by not taking care of her properly. I knew I was probably wrong, but I couldn't help feeling bad about it.

People like Sidther, who place the welfare of others before everything else, who make every effort to educate the community on the needs of the weak or the special, that kind of people deserve all our praise. Much more than anybody who writes or speaks all day about spirituality.
