I came upon Sponsored Tweets by accident--reading a Joel Comm blog post. Joel mentioned almost in passing that he was making money with Twitter using Sponsored Tweets. Since Joel authored Twitter Power: How to Dominate Your Market One Tweet at a Time I figured Sponsored Tweets was worth looking into.

I signed up a few weeks ago and have made a little money but because it's so simple to do and takes so little time, I estimate I made $60 per hour fro sending a few tweets.

Sponsored Tweets~How to Make Money With TwitterIZEA introduced Sponsored Tweets as a way for advertisers to get paid endorsements from Twitter users. Twitter users are paid based on their expertise or passion, how many followers that person has and how often the Tweeter followers click to links on his or her Twitter page.

To open a Sponsored Tweets account, your Twitter account must be at least 60 days old, have at least 100 followers and 100 status updates. Signing up for an account is free.

How Sponsored Tweets Works

Here's how Sponsored Tweets works:
~An advertiser makes an offer to appropriate Tweeters
~Tweeters write and post a tweet with a link to the advertiser's site or tweet a pre-written post
~Sponsored Tweets makes electronic payments to Tweeters through their PayPal account.
