I don't care what legal disclamers you put into your terms of use agreement. I was called by an individual who was pranked using a fake caller id number which happened to be my number. My family and I felt threatened by this individual. Your applications and others like it are dangerous. I was able to address the individual who was pranked and luckly they were not injured when they came to my residence where as a law abiding citizen I have home protection.
When I finish getting all the information about the pranker. Who has been Identified.I will not only press charges against the individual, but will be sueing The fake Id service, the smart phone company, and the cellular service company for allowing such a potentially malicious, and in my case nearly lethal, application be useable by their product and customers. Disclaimers do not protect or absolve the creators of such malicious software from liablity. The individual pranked will be joining me in this lawsuit as well as at least 50 other people who live in my community who were abused by having their numbers used by the software and the subscriber. I have also notified local news media and informed them of this unfunny trend to use this sort of software.
