Spooky Halloween Decorations and Craft Projects for Home, School or Office
If the price of store bought Halloween decorations for your home, school classroom or office is just too scary, or if you're spooked out by seeing the same indoor plastic pumpkin or witch in every home or classroom, how about trying these handmade Halloween decorations? The neighbors won't stand a ghost of a chance competing with your original handiwork.
On this page, you'll find an array of information about spooky Halloween decorations I have featured two Halloween projects -- a Halloween House and a craft project that can serve as a decoration or a greeting card. You'll also find neat photos of spooky Halloween stuff, videos, blog feeds and stuff to buy at Amazon or Cafe Press.
Please remember to leave me a message in the guestbook!

Countdown to Halloween

Make a Spooky Halloween House
This little Halloween House, as shown in the picture above, is a hand made creation that I cut from a cardboard box and decorated.
The supplies you will need are two or three patterns of scrapbook paper, scraps of card stock and other paper, Halloween themed stickers (3-D are best), black ribbon, a glaze pen, three dimensional glue (yellow),and of course, adhesive and a cutting instrument.
My Halloween House is the third "house" I have made using the same pattern. The video below shows the Halloween House from all four angles. For more detailed instructions, please refer to an earlier video I made showing a St. Patrick's Day House or check my Scrapping by Design Blog for written instructions.

Easy Halloween Craft Idea
Use it as an ornament or mail it as a card
This Halloween craft project can do double duty as something you display in your home or classroom or as a card you send. It's easy enough to make that it would be a suitable project for older children. The viideo below demonstrates how to make this ornament. You will need:
black card stock (12" by 6"
four patterns of Halloween-themed scrapbook paper, OR two doubled sided papers
black ribbon (or color of your choice)
Miscellaneous items for embellishments.
I embellished with orange buttons and stamped, heat embossed images. You could use other items as well -- such as stickers, die cuts, flowers, punched shapes, etc.
You will also need glues or adhesives and a cutting tool such as a Fiscar's Paper Trimmer.

Halloween Cup and Saucer
A Cute Halloween Decoration
This teacup, saucer and teabag with its Halloween theme is cute and fun to make.I used a template found here: Paper Mache Teacup Pattern.
The instructions on the link involve using the template to create paper mache. I did not do it that way. I cut the template out of a pizza box, then assembled. Once assembled, I omitted the paper mache step and simply covered the cup with scrapbook paper and black shelf liner.
I made the saucer by cutting a circle and bending it upwards to make a slight upwards tilting saucer.
I made the flowers from a beer can using the Big Shot and a floral die by Tim Holtz. The small pedestal on the bottom of the cup is also a small beer can flower bent into the shape you see.
For the teabag, I covered a packet of herbal tea with scrapbook paper and added computer generated text to read bat blood tea
Halloween TP Mini Album
Trick or Treat at Hell's Kitchen
I like Chef Gordon Ramsay, but I couldn't resist spoofing him in this Hell's Kitchen TP Album that I made. I made this using five toilet paper rolls that I had flattened and painted black. I flattened the rolls using a pasta machine that is dedicated to crafting. I then placed a heavy object over the five flattened rolls and let them sit overnight.
The mini album is decorated with scrapbook paper, Halloween Creepy Cloth, beer can flowers, plastic spiders, stickers, quilling, a decorated bottle cap and a number of pictures that have been Photoshopped.
