Let's Make some Spooky Halloween Treats
I wanted to list some yummies for the little ones to have for Halloween. What is more fun then to have a bowl of food with a very odd name that really does not look that good, but taste really yummy? Children love this kind of stuff. The very best part of this is the children will be real excited to help you! Just imagine all of the laughter and the fun you will have together.
Today, many families are not allowing their children to go trick-or-treating because of safety issues. Halloween is one of those days most children count down the days to celebrate. So if you are one the families joining the millions of other families by not allowing your children to go door to door collecting yummies, why not bake some and have a little party? Remember you do not have to spend lots of money to make your childrens goodies. These are easy recipes, and you can make as many adjustments to them as you want too.
Okay, let's get started!!

Over a Witches Moon Cookies
Sugar Cookies with a GREAT Twist

The Magick Cauldron by WhiteOaksHalloween
What makes these cookies so wonderful is a new Italian flavoring that I found and purchased called Fiori di Sicilia. With my grandmother and grandfather both being from Sicily I had to try this. I have read over and over that the air in Sicily is filled with a floral scent. Fiori di Sicilia smells like citrus and vanilla but also has a beautiful enchanting flora scent. Although it is a bit expensive, this is a flavoring I plan on keeping in my kitchen.
Ingredients
- 2 sticks of softened butter (please use butter
- not margarine)
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 Fiori di sicilia extract
- 1 egg
- juice of one orange
- 3 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
Instructions
You will not have to refrigerate this dough, it is workable as soon as it is mixed.
Cream together the sugar, butter, extracts, egg and orange juice. In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking powder and sea salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. The dough is going to look dry but it isn't. Lightly flour your surface and work with a portion of the dough. Roll out until it is 1/8 thick and cut out cookies with a round cookie cutter. Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle the top with sugar and bake on 400 degrees for 9-10 minutes or until the edges begin to turn golden brown.
I promise these cookies are so delicious and smells enchanting.

Product Description
In English, the Italian "fiori di Sicilia" translates as flower of Sicily. While this flavor is often described as a combination of vanilla and orange, it is actually a delightful floral extract. Our Pure Fiori di Sicilia Extract can be used in cakes, cookies and ice cream. In Italy it is used to flavor traditional panettone and other baked goods. Silver Cloud's Pure Fiori di Sicilia Extract contains alcohol, water and natural flavor. This extract is sugar and gluten-free.

Chipped Tombstone Bites with Dried Bugs
1 bag peanut butter chips
Melt together in a double boiler. I use a metal bowl over a pot of boiling water. Make sure the chips are completely melted. Go ahead and line your cookie sheet with parchment paper or waxed paper do not use foil, I made the mistake and used that once and it stuck to the chocolate
1 cup of nuts (your choice)
1 cup of raisins or dried cran-rasins
1 cup of coconut
Mix the nuts, raisins and coconut into the chocolate. You need to work sort of fast here, pour that mixture onto the lined cookie sheet and spread it thin. After it hardens, break it up into small pieces. This is a good little treat to wrap in those little Halloween bags to give to your friends or guest!!
(I have made this with only using dried cherry cran-rasins also!)

Deep Fried Inch Worms with Slim Sauce
Ingredients
- Fresh Green Beans
- washed and ends trimmed
- 2-Eggs Beatened
- Flour
- Bread Crumbs
- Ranch Dressing
- Green Food Coloring
- Seasonings-salt
- pepper
- Ms. Dash Table Blend
Instructions
After you wash and trim the fresh beans, blanch by cooking them in a little water for a couple of minutes. Immediately rinse the green beans with cool water to stop the cooking process. Place them into a baggie with flour and coat them. Afterwards dip the green beans into an egg mixture by adding 2 eggs and a small amount of water with pepper-beat with a whisker. Place the flour coated green beans into the egg mixture and place back into the zip lock baggie and add a little more flour with bread crumbs. Heat up some canola oil and deep fry the green beans until golden.
Place on scot towel to drain any extra oil from them.
Slim Dipping Sauce
Ranch Dressing and few drops of green food coloring.
There you have it. A healthy, spooky dish that is perfect for a "Spooky Halloween Party".

A Real Inch Worm-From North Carolina Botanical Gardens
Slim Dripped Eye Ball Punch
Ingredients
- Spirit or Ginger Ale
- quart of Orange Juice
- Lime or Lemon sherbet/sorbet
- Green Melon Balls
- spaghetti licorice
Instructions
You need to be the judge on the amounts you use. One bottle of soda to a pint of sherbet is usually what I used. Cut your melon by using one of those round scoops and set them in the freezer.
Before you get ready to serve this potion, put your sherbet in the bowl, add the orange juice, slowly add the sprite or ginger ale, and add the melon balls last. Add a few drops of green food coloring to the mixture. Add enough so it is that gross green color. Cut the spaghetti licorice in small pieces and add a small amount to the glasses (the veins, haahahah)
You want to try to make a fun drink for the little ones without tons of sugar.

Thanks Correen for sharing this recipe!!
This is a recipe that Correen (cloud9) shared-yummy! Her friend use to make it for her hungry youngsters!!Graveyard Digs
Crush some Oreo's- and layer them in a pan. Use a mason jar with a lid and add a pack of instant pistachio pudding and the milk. (Be sure to reduce the milk by a half of cup so the pudding is nice and thick). Pour the pudding on top of the Oreo's and add a thick layer of Cool Whip. Sprinkle the top with some more crushed Oreo's and add chopped gummy worms.
Now I use to make something similar as a special treat to have while we were watching a movie.
I would crush some vanilla wafers and place them in a bowl and make some thick chocolate pudding; and mix them together. Then I would layer the pudding mixture with Cool Whip alternating between layers and to finish it off I would add some crush M & M's or whatever candy I had on hand.

Spooky Pistachio Filled Cupcakes!
I just came up with this recipe for one of our SquidAngels Spook You have to admit not only would this cupcake be fun for children but they actually sound good.To see full directions please read my lens It's Not Dunkin Donuts
Spooky Pistachio Filled Cupcakes!
Mix a package of Instant Pistachio Pudding only using half of the milk amount on the package. Whip until it is thick, set into the refrigerator until it is nice and chilled. Meanwhile mix your white cake mix according to the directions on the box. Remember use only egg whites and canola oil to make them semi-healthier.
Spray your cupcake papers lightly with oil and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Allow the cupcakes to completely cool. Scoop out some of the middle of the cupcake and set aside or freeze to use for another recipe.
Take your chilled pistachio pudding from the refrigerator and slowly mix a half container of lite cool whip into it. Use a zip lock baggie and put the pudding into that cut the very tip of the corner of the baggie and fill the cupcake centers with the pudding mixture.
Take the remaining cool whip and mix some powder sugar to so it will thicken up. Put this mixture into another baggie, cut the corner and go around the edge of the filled cupcakes. Get a bag of gummy worms and curl one worm on top of each cupcake for added decoration.
What do you think? Do they sound good? Different?
