You feel angry, betrayed, demoralized, emasculated, embarrassed and probably broke too.

We were there too. In fact, we went through it twice!! Tell you what, we'll tell you a story about what we went through when we lost our jobs the first time round in 1997 during the Asian economic crisis. My brother and I were high flying corporate executives, he was a senior corporate development in one of world's largest automotive companies and was previously in a bulge bracket investment bank. I was working for one of the world's leading management consulting companies.

After 7 months of job hunting, we were still jobless and nothing in our bank accounts. We were really looking to hop on another gig with at least the same pay and similar profile. We just wanted to remain status quo.

It was then that we realized that, we had deployed the wrong tactics and did not 'package' and market ourselves well in looking for another job. We did not understand how we could map our careers to what we really wanted and be good at KEY things top managers and CEOs look for. We did not have a game plan and we discovered that there was actually a framework around building successful careers.

When we were down and out in 1997 and 2001, we looked at ourselves and discovered we completely lost the plot in terms of how the market was and did not understand how we had to position ourselves to create opportunities and value for ourselves. In the 7 months we went wandering the wilderness so to speak, we did one thing right - we talked to many other people, listening to their stories. Today, we have talked to and have listened to over a thousand stories of career ups and downs, how they started off and how they have ended up.

Deploying and building this framework - we proceeded to change our mindset to one which was longer term and one which took into account:

%u2022 Treating yourself as an investment or a business - Invest in yourself and not invest in a job
%u2022 Redundancy in Career options - Ensure you can stand on your own two feet so won't go hungry regardless of economic conditions
%u2022 Positioning and marketing yourself - creating a network and perception to increase opportunities for yourself!!!
%u2022 It's not about Entrepreneurship vs Employment - it's about Entrepreneurship in Employment!

We will take you through these tactics and skills to improve yourself and obtain quick results in getting back on your feet with a renewed outlook and confidence.
