If your reading this than you probably have a need for a spy phone to find out some type of information. For me, I first started getting into spy phones because of my exgirlfriend. We'd been together for almost 5 years and happy the entire time.

But it was when she had gotten a new job that things started changing and going all wrong. We went to university together and stayed at my condo. Although she had a place of her own we always decided to stay at my place since we were pretty much stuck together like glue.

We had almost every class together and knew each other in and out, sometimes even knowing what the other person was going to say before we said it. We ate every meal together on the weekdays and on the weekends she would go home to her family in the next city on the weekends. I trusted her and her mother loved me like her own son everything was perfect and I thought this was the girl I was going to marry.

After graduation, to our disappointment, her mother wanted her to go back to her hometown and find a job there. An end to a very happy 5 years was just on the horizon and i promised i'd make try and make it work. At first she'd come see me then i'd go see her over the weekends and everything was fine for about a year or so.

She'd found a job General Processes job at an automotive interior manufacturer and was making new friends. While I was starting a car stereo installation shop in my own city. It was tough trying to see one another and it was even worse when it was time to have dinner and I found myself eating alone at the table. Those were some lonely times.

My girl had found herself a new group of friends and a new life. I thought we were solid enough to be together even though we were so far apart. But nature dealt its hand and a person has to adapt to their environment to survive. I was in the same environment and couldn't see things as she did, because we were now each living a different life. Mine stayed relatively the same, but for her it was like a whole new dawn just popped up out of nowhere.

Things Change

When you stay with someone for 5 years day in and day out, you know how they act and what usually sets them off. At first she would always answer the phone whenever I called. I realize that she had to work so I tried not to call during office hours, so its irrelevant that she had to work and couldn't pick up the phone...That isn't the reason at all why she started to slowly stop answering my calls.

After work she would go to dinner with a group of friends. Ok, no harm done there I do the same thing, I was never the jealous type and realize she has a life to live also. Besides I'd never tell her she couldn't do something with her friends, because I wouldn't want her to do that to me either.

But then it started getting more and more frequent, and the calls started to go unanswered: How do her ears change from answering the phone every time, to all of a sudden not hearing it? Because it was in her purse, her ringer was off or she forgot it at home?...Why does it happen NOW all of a sudden and never before in the past. As far as I was concerned it didn't happen before and it shouldn't happen now unless her ears fell of.

Weeks went by playing phone tag and even a few times we didn't talk for a whole day, this wasn't right and this is when I had to start to confirm my suspicions.

I didn't want to be the angry type or even worse - the stupid type trying to hold on. This is when I started looking for ways to find out what she was doing when I couldn't be there with her. I had to know just what was going on, not only because I still loved her tremendously, but because I needed to carry on with my life also if she wasn't going to be committed to me.

Looking For a Way

I started to look for ways to gather information about her actions, from sensor activated spy cameras to tracking devices and key loggers. But none of those proved effective, because she had to be in a certain place for these things to work or in her car to be able to track her. Then it dawned on me that there are two things a girl always has with them, their purse and their cell phone.. But more than likely their cell phone in their purse.

I've seen spies in the movies that eavesdrop on phone calls, but I always thought it would require some type of hi-tech surveillance equipment like you see in the movies when there's a group of cops in the back of a cargo van. I found long range sound recording devices, but those would prove pretty useless if I wasn't there to work it. I could've installed a phone recorder on her home phone, but how would i monitor it and how would know if she was on the phone? She had a little sister that was constantly blabbing away on the phone, so the convenience in this was out the door.

Then I started looking into cell phone recorders. Things like SIM card readers where I had to get her phone and extract the call records and SMS messages from her phone. Too risky. Now with a home phone, the sound recorder has a place to plug into. But with a cellphone, I didn't have a clue how that would work, where could you stick anything on a phone to record anything?

Then I found the answer, for mobilephones there isn't any actual physical device to install on the phone is actually software that you install into the cell phone itself.

Once the software is installed onto the cellphone you can do almost anything from listen to their calls, read SMS messages. You can even use the phone to bug the room by turning on the phones external microphone and to top it all off this kind of software can even use the cellphones's GPS function to tell you where they are - perfect.

The Download

Installation requires you to have physical access to the mobile device in order to download the spyphone software onto the phone. The mobile phone that is to have the software installed onto it is called the target phone.- Don't forget this term.

(just a brief note; there is in development that will not require you to have access to the phone physically and this product will be on the market for 2010 - although it will require consent on the phone owners behalf to install the software.)

The other phone that you will use to listen in on conversations made on the target phone is called the Monitor phone. -Monitor phone, because it will 'monitor' the 'target' phone....remember these terms. - The TARGET AND MONITOR PHONES.

The target phone must be acquired and you must have it in your hands in order to install the spy software from the spy phone vendors download site on the internet. You must use the phone's web browser to access the internet.

This is the way it works for the majority of the spy ware vendors out there. There are a couple of others that require that you download them to your computer first, unzip the package then transfer the contents to your cellphone.

The installation time for all the mobile web browsers are within 2 minutes, so no matter what anyone tells you ALL download times have differences so miniscule they hardly matter

Installation

After the download has completed you then have to go through the installation process. This is usually just restarting the phone to let it reboot and let the software auto install itself. After the reboot/restart a message window will pop up telling you to enter either the username and password or the product key to activate the software, some also ask for an additional serial number.

The companies that require a download to your desktop computer, then to be unzipped, then transferred to your mobile phone, then the run install program to be executed are just annoying and cheap programs that probably won't work even after you've gone through the hassle to go through all the installation steps.- Windowsspyphone comes to mind, an annoying piece of crap that is virtually worthless

After installation is completed there can be a product registration process involved with some types of spyware, but one thing that almost all spy ware vendors have in common either during the download or registration process is that they record the IMEI number of the cellphone that your using.

Every phone has a distinctive IMEI number, its like the serial number for the processing chip inside the phone that identifies it on the cellular network. Your phone is now on the list with all the other compromised phones, welcome to the club. The reason why I know this is because we used to work with affiliates that tried to provide us with free software they have received from other vendors for testing. Sometimes we would try and purchase a version of their software and install it to the company phones only to be denied during the registration process. We were denied because we had previously attempted to install the software and during the registration process our IMEI number popped up as being us.

The registration process of some of these companies uses the GPS function to pinpoint your location. I short we got busted because we let them see where we were during the installation/registration process. How did they know where we were at you ask?

The GPS reporting uses the internet to send information to their server. Another guy once tried to download the software but used the Paypal account from a certain country of which the seller was suspicous of, in short we got busted twice so I know how to get around it and what set off the triggers.

The Setup Procedure

It takes ten minutes to install and set up the spyphone program, yeah right. The download, restart and installation is going to take atleast 5 minutes, and thats if your good with phones, if you suck bet on 10-15 just for these 3 steps.

The absolute biggest obstacle with getting cellphone spy software installed, setup and running is knowing how to use the actual telephone your going to install the software on. Some people may think I'm an idiot for saying this (like my old boss) but unless you know how to operate every type of phone on the market, you will have problems with operating it. You will have to :

1.Unlock the keypad
2.Know hot to navigate the phone interface
3.Find the Internet Browser
4.Get use to highlighting the text box for typing with a cellular keypad
5.Getting use to the shit keypad
6.Allow downloading of programs
7.Make sure the phone can connect to the internet either by the phones regular connection or via wifi.

So in other words get to know the phone, even if you have to go to a secondhand phone shop and act like your buying in order to get to know the interface. This is one big step spyphone vendors don't tell you about, and by the way...if the phone requires a password to get in, it's game over before it even starts.

Now this is all fine and dandy for civilian mobile phone spy software, but when it comes to the phone company pulling information from your account on behalf of law enforcement, you don't stand a chance. They don't even have to go into your phone...It's already in their system.

Let me tell you a little story that has to do with my cell phone provider.

I use to get these annoying as hell spam SMS text messages. So i contacted my cellphone company and asked them to block the sender. Well they asked me to identify which message it was so they could block them. They asked me what the message actually said, so they could refer to it and block the sender.

Do you realize what this means?

Every message that gets sent or is sent by you is on record at not only the phone company but also on your SIM card, not only this but messages that were erased from your SIM card can still be read on your SIM card. This doesn't really matter to the phone company anyway because after you've sent or recieved a message it stays on their system - so all those text addicts sending around incriminating text that can land you in jail, stop it....stop it right now...

You see when George Bush Jr's dumb ass was President he passed a bill allowing the Feds to tap calls and view phone activity records, not only this but he gave the phone companies immunity from prosecution when engaging in violation of Electronic Privacy Guidelines on behalf of the US federal bureaus.

The sad part is that this is only the US, more countries around the world don't even have this type of legislation where they at least 'try' to protect your rights. In many countries it's open season to tap whoever you want to. The Patriot Act my fat ass. If it wasn't for the federal government talking so much shit to other countries around the world that didn't have the same idealogy, there wouldn't be any need for it in the first place.

Look at the Pretty Lights

Many people ask me how they can tell if their phone is indeed infected with some sort of spyware.

First there are many different types of cellular spy software available so the signs can be different. One thing they almost all have in common though is that the phone keypad likes to light up when a call interception is in progress.

For some other devious brands that can actually turn a phone 'ON' when switched off (yes you read that right it is indeed possible) Your keypad will again light up when it shouldn't.

If you ever hear any echoes, scratchy sounds or could've sworn you heard someone gasping in the background...chances are, you really did and there was someone listening in the background.

When a call tap is in progress using spy software the call is patched through to your phone and still enables the monitor phone to have the capability to speak out, unless they mute their telephone you will hear miniscule amounts of back ground noise on their end.

Call Tapping Without Spyware

For monitoring without using spy software, a scanner can be used to grab your phones frequency using a simple scanner with the proper bandwidth. Once your frequency has been found, the scanner is tuned finely into your cell phone.

This is usually a favorite with law enforcement because it is fully remote capable. They can contact the phone company you are using and simply ask what your IMEI number is and this will tell them the operating frequency your phone is working on.

Asking the phone company for this type of information is a piece of cake for law enforcement. Like I mentioned before Bush Jr. signed a bill giving immunity to telecom companies when ordered to give records and call details to law enforcement agencies.

When there is someone trying tune into your frequency it will sound staticy, like the same noise you hear on a television when the channel is not tuned precisely. The reason why there is initial static is because the frequency has to be dialed in in increments. Not entered in at once.

Cellphone tapping is true people, and it doesn't happen to just criminals. There are tons of nosy people out there that are bordering on sickness with the need to know, to them it drives them nuts when they don't know and will go to great lengths to find their answer.

Your SMS Has Already Been Compromised

Maybe I already mentioned this but I'll mention it again. Whenever you send or receive a SMS it is stored on the phone companies servers. Simply because you erase the SMS doesn't mean it will disappear from existence. It disappears from your view, but is still within your SIM card as well s the phone companies records.

Emails are also stored in this manner, any type of electronic communication that comes or goes from your phone is stored. Don't believe me? whoever has a gmail account can verify this by their tagline- "Never delete a message again" Your storage space is growing... Now why would I NOT want to delete my emails? and why would they want to create a service where you wouldn't have to delete messages? Think about it, have we gotten so lazy that we cannot even delete an email now?

NO

They are collecting information to be used for future implementation of their algorithyms. Processes that will try and think one step ahead of you and predict future outcomes. But one thing that they are forgetting is that mentality changes so it going to be an extremely skewed ocurrance of events that they will foster as future forward thinking....Its not nice to fool mother nature.

Using spy software for mobile phones requires more than just installing the software and performing investigative procedures - you must be careful when monitoring the target phone.

Some tell tale signs of being tapped have to be carefully taken into consideration, so not to draw additional suspicion on the target being monitored.

Phone Bills - The target's phone bill will increase slightly to highlyy. A good way to keep the expense down is by limiting the number of event reports that are sent so reports are not to frequent until actually needed. For example, there is no need to send event reporting every hour when it is during sleep time, The target would not be sending emails or sms messages when they are asleep and may get suspicious when there is phone activity going on without there own actual input.

Keypad Lights - When a spyphone is activated usually the keypad lights up and either stay on or go off. The better brands on the market such as Flexispy have tamed this problem, so its very unlikely that there will be any type of indication when using this specific brand.

Sounds, Clicks, Static, Breathing - When there is someone listening in on your phone there are obvious signs that you are being tapped of which you should not overlook as subtle as they may be. apart from spy software for mobile phones, when a frequency scanner is being used the phone line will sound staticky, in the US there is also a mandatory beeping at a beginning of a conversation to indicate that you are under surveillance. Only after the surveillance has been completed is the law enforcement agency required to notify you of being tapped, they must also give you written notification that you have been tapped -not in the process of being tapped - but that you 'had' been tapped prior to their notification.

Take the Battery Out - When ever you think you are being tapped or tracked its a good idea to take the battery out of the phone so the phone does not transmit signals that can compromise your location. Simply turning your phone off is not enough. Sometimes even taking the battery out isn't always enough to guarantee your privacy. Your phone will have residual voltage left inside the phone and it will be may be possible to track your location - although I'm not 100% certain I do have some small evidence: When I take the battery out of my phone, there is still power left in the capacitors inside the phone that will supply the phone with enough residual voltage to keep the ROM powered.

A few times I had taken the battery out of my phone, when I placed the battery back in the phone prompted me if I wanted to "Update the Time and date'...this goes to show that there is indeed some cpu processing going on even after my battery has been removed.

I am also concerned that this is also a way to trick the user into allowing permission inadvertently to allow a remote program to be installed which has been sent by the mobile operator o behalf of the monitoring law enforcement agency.
