Spyware Detector

Picking a spyware detector can be difficult. With the scams, false positives and software that simply doesn't remove your spyware most people have a difficult time separating the scams from the legitimate spyware detectors.

My intent is to give you some facts about the spyware detector industry to help you make the right decision.

Spyware Detector Exposed?

The problem with spyware detectors and what you can do to protect yourself

The problem with buying a spyware detector is at best they only remove 90% of your spyware.

Before the only way to remove spyware was to buy a spyware detector to remove 60-90% of your spyware and then buy another spyware detector to remove the last of it. Hopefully together they will remove all the spyware, but unfortunately most of the time they don't.

So you're stuck shelling out $60 for two pieces of software that still haven't solved your problem.

Even worse are the software programs that give false positives. What is a false positive? It's when a spyware detector scans your computer and says you have spyware when in fact you don't.

Many companies have been sued by the Federal Trade Commission and received multi million dollar fines for misleading consumers. Just back in January the FTC settled a $2 million fine against a company for misleading consumers into thinking they have spyware on their computer when they didn't. That person was even banned from ever selling an anti spyware product for the rest of his life.

Unfortunately there are a lot of scams to be found both in spyware and the spyware detectors used to remove infections.

Fortunately there are some quality spyware detectors available for under thirty dollars. Here are some features that I recommend looking for when making your decision on which spyware detector to buy.

Features a Spyware Detector Should Have

Don't even think about buying a spyware detector unles it has these features

Here are some tips about what features to look for when buying a top quality spyware detector.

Full scan: the software should be able to do a complete scan of your entire computer.

Guard feature: prevents spyware from infecting your pc.

Spyware updates: with new spyware being released constantly a good spyware remover should download new updates at least once per day.

Real Customer Support: Tech support that speaks english and answers your questions within a few hours (not days).

100% removal: The best antispyware software will provide you with a custom update to remove all your spyware if it wasn't removed on the first scan.

Simple to use: The software should be simple to use and automate common tasks like scanning. You should be able to set it and forget it.

Highly awarded: The spyware detector you choose should have several legitimate awards from independant organizations.

Better Business Bureau member: With so many anti spyware scams on the internet I would only recommend buying from a company that belongs to the BBB. In order to be a BBB member a company must be in business for at least one year and satisfactorily resolve any customer complaints.

I'm a computer programmer by trade and I read up a lot about computer security issues. Whenever a friend has a computer problem they always call me. So I know great software when I see it.

Which Spyware Detector do I recommend?

This is the only one that meets all the features above

The only spyware detector I've found that meets all the important features mentioned above is SpyZooka by BluePenguin Software. They are the only ones that make a 100% spyware removal guarantee within 24 hours. And the tech support is the best of any software company I've ever tested. Currently they are the only one I recommend to my friends.
