Kingdom Hearts

Ranked #6,505 in Games, #297,415 overall | Donates to Church! at Bethany

Square Enix is Still Going Strong

Kingdom Hearts is one of the trademarks of my favorite video game company, Square Enix. They make a bunch of games, and I am very proud to own some of them. The plots of Kingdom Hearts are good, the graphics, better, and the music, quite honestly, is great.

I love Kingdom Hearts. If you have not yet experienced a love for it yet, why not give Kingdom Hearts a try?

Kingdom Hearts

With lovable villains, heroes, and recognizable characters from Disney, Kingdom Hearts has one of the most interesting, intriguing plots I have ever seen. And it's a great game to play. Through Kingdom Hearts 1 + 2, as well as RE: CoM, you play as a teenage boy named Sora. He weilds a mysterious weapon, called the Keyblade. The Keyblade has the power to open, that's right, doors, or anything with locks.

At first I was a little skeptical. 'What the heck is up with the key blade?' I would ask myself. Apparently it's also one of the only weapons that can kill evil creature, called Heartless. Sora , and a bunch of Disney characters, go through many levels, fighting heartless, and making friends.

That was Kingdom Hearts 1. Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days focus on, in addition to the heartless, the Nobody. Thirteen especially powerful Nobody's make up an organization, called Organization 13.

And quite frankly, they are one of the only villains I've ever genuinely enjoyed fighting. They are cool, their powers are cool. The only thing I would change about them is the fact that all they talk about are hearts, kingdom hearts, the key blade, and emotion. That gets a little annoying, but I still love them.

The Disney characters used in the game were ones that were loveable, interesting, and I think the game producers captured the characters attitudes quite well. The characters included:
Aladdin, Genie (Aladdin), Stich, Jack Skeleton (The Nightmare Before Christmas), Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean), Simba (Lion King), Hercules (Hercules), Zeus and Hades, and many more.

Also, you get to fight against Pete, which was a refresher for me, because I kinda forgot Pete existed. And, most importantly, "King" Mickey. Oddly, the game makes him a happy go lucky warrior, who for some reason seems to stalk Sora. However, King Mickey does make me very happy, in one way: He moves like Yoda. And Cloud. You know. He's like Yoda, from Star Wars, and Cloud, from Final Fantasy, combined, into a tiny package.

The Enemies

Who and What Your Up Against

In Kingdom Hearts, you fight the Heartless, and the Nobodys. The Heartless are creatures made from when the darkness in ones hearts (think all of the bad thoughts you've thought) taking over the person's body, and converting it into a tool of destruction. When the Heartless attack a human, unless the human escapes them, the Heartless will then take that persons heart and corrupt it. The only thing left over from the incident are two hearless, and the empty body of the human. In this way, the Heartless spread. The most important thing to know about a Heartless is that they attack on instinct.

The Nobodys are made when a strong willed person becomes a Hearless. The body/shell left over from the attack begins to move of it's own accord. While Nobody's cannot make other Nobody's (they cannot take other's hearts), they are considerably stronger than Heartless, as well as being much more intelligent. They can formulate, prepare, and carry out plans. And they do have plans.

Kingdom Hearts 1

I would greatly suggest buying this, as it introduces the characters. Plus, it's hard to understand the KH2 Plot, without playing KH1. It has a hardcore plot, okay graphics (the way the characters talk is unrealistic), and excellent music. Being a music lover, I can appreciate the music played in Kingdom Hearts.

The fighting system is basic, but very comprehendible. Anybody can play it. It's fun for me, my little brother, and anybody watching us play.

You play as a boy, Sora, and start out on an "world" called Destiny Island. One night, Sora wakes up, to find his world be engulfed by darkness. He finds that one of his friends, Riku, was responsible, and his other friends (potential girlfriend) Kairi, lost her heart, in the process. You then go to other worlds, fighting the heartless, and uncovering a great plot, that'll make you say "wow" and cry at the same time.

Now...Kingdom Hearts 2 is an improvment on Kingdom Hearts 1. You focus less on riku and Kairi, and more on fighting the Orginization, who apparently wants to be real (sound like Pinoochio?).
You fight the Orginization, Nobodys, and Heartless. In addition, there are new heartless, and a broad variety of Nobodys.

Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories

This game is kind of a side story, but does explain the beginning of KH2. You get to know a lot about the Orginization 13 members, though the graphics could be better.

This game is available on PS2 and Gameboy advance. It's great. The fighting system is a little weird: You use cards, that are apparently Sora's memories, to attack. You create a deck, and go into battle. Not to mistake it for Yu Gi Oh or anything like that. You are controlling Sora, running around the battle system, using cards to attack enemies that seem to pop up everywhere in the game.

There's also a little bonus to the game. After beating the story line, where Sora goes up Castle Oblivion, battling Heartless and Orginization members, you can play, as Riku. He goes down, to Castle Oblivions "basement", yet again battling Orginization members, and heartless. Two plots. Two endings.

The plot is a little hard to follow, so I would still recommend playing KH1 first.

It's very fun.

KH Re: Chain of Memories Intro

The introduction for Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories. This is perhaps the stupidest introduction in the world, but it, unlike the other (released) KH games, is totally relevant to the game.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, coming out soon, in September, 09, is a game that follows the life of Roxas, Sora's Nobody. You play as him, and go on missions, with other Organization members. The missions usually involve killing the Heartless. The girl in the video is Xion, who apparently is Organization 13's 14th member. One of the Organization members commented that it was weird to have a fourteenth member to an Organization 13.

There is a multiplayer feature, where you can do missions, either with whoever has a DS, or with an apparently very smart computer. What you do is, you repeat missions you beat during the story mode. You might be thinking "What's the point of playing them on multiplayer, if I'm just repeating what I've done?" Well...there's a little bonus to playing the Multiplayer games.

You get to play as all Thirteen Organization members, as well as Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Riku. Also, you can play as King Mickey. Whether or not you can play as Xion...I do not know. But either way...it's gonna be awesome.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Trailer

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is coming out in September 19th, so I think it's only fair that I show you a trailer for the game. It's going to be...insane.

Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep

I know your my friend. That's why I want you to do something. Erase me.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep follows three Keyblade weilders, as they embarck on their mission to find Master Xehanort, who was a Keyblade master. They knew that his disappearance foretold bad things. According to the Ansem reports, reports from the man who's apprentices made the Heartless, and Nobodys, tell of a Keyblade weilder who saves the world from Darkness (I think that's Sora), and a Keyblade weilder who brings Darkness and Chaos to it.

So, the three Keyblade masters set out, to find Xehanort. The game is unique, because there's a new fighting style, and you get to play as three different characters, each one with a different plot to follow. The three weilders are: Ven, Terra, and Aqua. Ven looks remarkebly like Roxas, and many people think that they're connected. Nobody really knows anything about Terra and Aqua, though.

There are also new enemies. Called Unbirths. There are many theorys of how they are made, but nobody knows for sure...

Gameplay from Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep

I am sooo pumped for this game being released

This game is going to be released sometime in America between December, and Februrary, 2009-2010.

Kingdom Hearts Coded

You must lessen their torment

Kingdom Hearts Coded is a mystery to many. That's because it's barely been worked on. It'll be coming out...probably in the late 2010. However, it'll be awesome. Basically, you play as a Data-based Sora, not the real Sora, but data based, who has to go around, and "Free them of their torment".

Nobody knows what that phrase means, or what Sora had to do to make it so at the end of the trailer, the journel says "Their torment has lessened." . But one things for sure. Their will be a new fighting system. You can go 2D, 3D, and must get rid of puzzle like objects, called Bugs. While your doing this, you are being attacked by the Heartless. That's all pretty much everybody knows about the game.

There are rumors that it will be released for the cell phone, which will explain the overall bad graphics. Whether or not this is final...will still be determined. They might release it for different platforms. I hope they do, because it wouldn't be so good as a cell phone game.
