New Painting

My most recent painting... shown here what it would look like matted and framed. This little guy is on "Top of the World" and enjoying a little lunch. He's painted on gessoed canvas paper using artist quality oil paints. Interested in him? Check him out at my shop.

ACEO Work in Progress

First step I sketch out the painting. I tend to be fairly detailed on this step... making sure I capture the personality of the little chickadee.

After sketching out this little guy, I work from the background forward. Here... I'm applying the background in oil paints. I usually let it dry for a day or two before proceeding to the next step.

The last step is to add the bird and all its feathery details.
