Tips For Buying Squash Shoes Online

One thing to keep in mind with buying squash shoes online, is that you really need to know what you want before hand. If you have a specific shoe make and model in mind, that's perfect. I have a specific Asics shoe model EJ608, that I like. It comes in both blue and shocking orange. I know if I order that shoe in a size nine it will fit, and I will like it. Shopping online for squash shoes, or any product is great because your bound to get the best prices. It's just so easy to compare. Having to return shoes, because they don't fit or aren't really what you want, usually means your stuck with shipping charges. This kind of negates the whole online shopping advantage.

Asics Squash Shoes

My shoe of choice for the courts these days.

As I mentioned earlier, I like the Asics Gel Domain shoe. The new model out for 2008 is the EY803-9391. It's colors are a little toned down, but is basically the same shoe as the orange/blue EJ608 and EY608 from last year. I like the extra material on the toe, as I tend to drag my toe (intentionally) and the built up toe on these models extend the life of the shoe. At least for me.

Prince Squash Shoes

Maybe the best squash shoes on the market?

That's a point for debate, but certainly one of the most popular around the courts. I see a lot of guys around our club using these shoes, and they all swear by them. Prince is one of the most searched for squash shoes, and they do make a good product. A few years ago the Prince NFS seemed to have problems with excessive wear, but their newer models seem to have overcome that problem.

Adidas Squash Shoes

My previous favorites.

I used to own a pair of the Adidas Stabil series of squash shoes, and rather liked them. For those squash players prone to ankle injuries, these can be a good shoe. A wider base, is supposed to provide a more stable support platform for your on court gyrations. It really depends on the player though. I did turn my ankle quite badly, the first month I owned mine, but then played with them for a couple of seasons injury free before moving on the my Asics.

Ashaway Squash Shoes

Cheap squash shoes with professional performance.

Ashaway has some very reasonably priced shoes that look pretty slick around the court. I've never tried the AMPS, but the technology behind them looks pretty sensible. They supposedly support the entire foot, and not just a couple of pressure points. From someone whose experienced sore arches in the past, this sounds like a good idea.

Are Your Squash Shoes Hurting Your Feet?

Maybe it's time to get a new pair.

Playing with that old lucky pair of shoes, may make you feel lucky on the court, but how do your feet feel after. If your starting to experience aches and pains around feet, maybe it's time for a new pair of shoes.

Pounding around the court, rapid direction changes, toe dragging, and footwork drills will all take a toll on your shoes. Good shoes can really protect your feet, while worn out shoes will not. I wore my last pair of shoes, till the insoles were worn through, the toe guards were practically none existent, and the soles were as smooth as a babies butt. Not really a smart move.

My feet are still recovering. But ever since I replaced my old shoes, at least their starting to feel better. There are enough squash injuries to incur just with playing and age. No need to let bad equipment make things worse.

What Squash Shoes Do You Like?

Do you have a favorite, or are you still looking?

Once most people find a squash shoe they like, they tend to stick with it. I always look for something that's light, but still provides good support. You don't want to be tripping over your own shoes, but you also don't want something with no support, that you end up turning an ankle.
