Making Mistakes Building a Home Based Business

Just a little history on my trials and errors about building a business at home.
I made many of them and I will try to list the most expensive ones here. Maybe that will
help other newbies like me from making the same mistakes.

I retired from the wholesale dairy business in June 2003. Retirement is highly
recommended, but you have to have something to do besides playing golf and
bowling. So I decided to try starting a home business. Couldn't be that hard. Wrong!

Here are some of the don'ts in starting your work at home.

Do not get sucked in by the ads that claim they made $1,326.00 their first week.

There are marketers that are making thousands of dollars with a home business but it did
not happen over night and it did not happen in the first week. It takes time to build your
customer base. Most business you should give it a year to see how well it works out.
That does not mean that you will not start recieving income sooner that a year.

Do not pass up free training by the successful marketers. .

By training I mean follow their directions on how they became successful.

Do not start signing up for every scam that promises big dollars.

You will be tempted to sign up for every thing you read about. Doing that is one of the
biggest mistakes us NEWBIES make. You sign up for one business and spend all your
time that you have devoted to your home business. If you would like more streams of income

Do not upgrade to paying for traffic exchanges etc.

You can sign up for a lot of traffic exchange, banner exchanges, classifieds, and tool bars.
You do not want to upgrade, use the free version until you find which ones work.

That is some of the don'ts and you will learn more as you grow your business.

Purchase training material.

Get your own domain

Purchase your own domain name. In choosing a domain first decide what your niche
market will be, you can learn about this in Derek's insider secrets. Your URL should
pertain to your niche market.

Get a successful mentor
