Keep track of my Squidlings

By squidlings of course I mean my lenses. This lens is my way of keeping track of my lens stats, sharing tips, and other fun Squidoo stuff.

About Me

Noadi, aka Sheryl Westleigh, has been a member since May 3 2007, has rated 369 lenses, favorited 67, and has created 143 lenses from scratch. This member's top-ranked page is "Polymer Clay Sculpting Tips and Tutorials". See all my lenses

Giant Squid!

My lens making has gotten me some attention. I was one of the new batch of Giant Squids named May 2, 2008. I'm still giddy.

Where am I Now?

I've had an explosion of lens making recently. I give the credit for that to the Captain's Squidoo Chat the members of the chat are so helpful and they do a great job keeping me motivated.

Notes

Royalties decreased after December due to switching over from using the Amazon module in some of my lenses to becoming an Amazon affiliate and using those links.

Drop in number of lenses in November and January were due to deleting some lenses that were doing badly and I didn't want to continue maintaining. Now I'd never do that, I'd find some way to make the lenses better.

July Payouts:
Payouts have moved to average lensrank which actually hurt my payouts. I had lenses that I created in July that were in the top tier at the end of the month make only 8 cents because they started out with a very low lensrank right after publishing which brought the month long average way down. This is going to be good for established lenses but definitely hurts new lenses that are doing well.

Also in the past all lenses even those below the 3rd tier cutoff got at least a penny, that seems to be gone. Kind of irritating for stats because I made so many new lenses in July that aren't listed in my royalty stats because their average fell below that cutoff.

September Lensrank and Lenses
I didn't do much editing, promoting, or making new lenses in September and late August. The reason for this sadly was that two of my uncles passed away within a month of each other. I really didn't have the time or motivation to both fulfill my duties as a Giant Squid Greeter and work on lenses so I focused on on being a Greeter and even that suffered. Things are looking up though and I hope to be back in the swing of things soon and hopefully my earnings for September won't take too much of a hit.

Firefox is most useful for Squidoo because it has extensions which make lensbuilding easier. The Squidoo extension, Dashboard axtension along with Greasemonkey for thefluffanutta's scripts all require Firefox in order to use them.

Wow, interesting lens! I am amazed that you are making nearly $300 AND you are an Amazon affilate. So, can I assume that this income is just squidoo royalty (Google ads, etc) and not due to commissions on sales?

Also, I keep hearing about Firefox, but I do not really understand why it is so helpful for Squidoo.

Finally, I would appreciate if it you would check out my Lens on Footed Pajamas. I think it is one of the best I have made, but would love to have your comments/angel blessings/suggestions for improvement.
