Rich's Bottom Twenty Squidoo Pages

Ranked #3,505 in Squidoo Community, #255,549 overall

Featured Bottom 20 Squidoo Pages

After what is now more than three years as a member of Squidoo, this seemed the ideal time to sit back and reflect a little on what has been a busy time creating lenses.

A few goals have been achieved. I was honoured to be picked as a Squidoo Giant, following the completion of my fifty lens target, and I am also currently serving as a Squid Angel.

But if one thing is true, you can never sit on your laurels. As far as Squidoo is concerned, you have to keep enjoying what you are doing and keep the creative passion alive. One of those passions includes inwardly digesting what others say, and then reacting as creatively as possible.

This brings me to the inspiration for this page. Just an ordinary discussion in the Squidoo forum can lead to a light bulb switching on in your mind .

Although I have not yet built a full blown lensography, I thought why not highlight those that, for various reasons, are at the bottom of my particular barrel.

So, here they are: Rich's bottom twenty, featured in reverse order from the bottom up. Cue music!

Something Old, Something New, Never Borrowed...Feeling Blue

SquidooAs you might have guessed, I really enjoy creating pages here at Squidoo.

Each and every one becomes a labour of love and, as a consequence, I am always trying to find ways to improve them. But, as any Lensmaster will tell you, the more pages you have the harder it can become to maintain them. You are always going to have those that will perform better than others.

There are several basic reasons for my under performers. Although you can never be totally sure why your pages are currently ranked the way they are, you can make some very educated guesses.

Here are my guesstimates: a lack of visitors and a lack of freshness seem to be the biggest reasons for my pages heading towards the bargain basement. Add to this, pages bereft of some of the Squidoo necessities such as ratings, comments, sales and blessings and they will inevitably go into free fall.

Although these are my lowest ranked pages, I enjoyed making them all, either because they are subjects close to my heart or because they are favourites in some way. I am hoping the pages featured here will change regularly - I am sure they will, as that is the nature of the beast.

All of the pages here are listed from the bottom to the top i.e. the worst ranked will be Number 1 on this page and so on.

The Bottom 20 Debate

Please Leave Your Thoughts

Is creating a Bottom 20 Squidoo page a good idea?

Yes, I think I might try it too

TheLittleCardShop says:

It is Rich, you have awesome pages and sometimes people don't get to see the ones left at the bottom so bringing them up is a fantastic idea :)

YayasHome says:

I think this is a great idea. So many topics can get buried an' forgotten an' this is a perfect solution to reviving 'em so more people can enjoy reading 'bout what you love.

GypsyOwl says:

Awesome idea!

vikksimmons says:

Actually I think I will. I am at 89 lenses so why not. They need some love.

burntchestnut says:

I have quite a few "bottom" squidoo pages and wondered if they were bringing down my earnings. I really don't want to remove them because I write about what I like and spend a lot of time on each lens. I'll have to promote my "bottom" lenses, too.

KarenTBTEN says:

Yes, especially when a person has more than 100, and people still don't see them all when they click on "see all" on your portfolio.

Wednesday_Elf says:

I agree with others quoted here that the 'bottom' of the pile is often a delightful 'find' to read. Glad you did this.

prosperity66 says:

This is a very interesting "twist" and I think I'm gonna steal the idea, hehehe.

KathyMcGraw says:

I have never seen this before and thought "what a great idea" :)

No, it really serves no purpose for me

Tipi says:

I think its a unique and wonderful idea....the thing for me is that my bottom 20 seem to fluctuate so much and I would have to be updating it so often...cool!

nestboxes says:

ps it should have said can't do give it a try yet

nestboxes says:

It's a great idea. Bet they won't be bottom for long. I don't have twenty yet though, so can give it a try yet!
