All About Me - SereneSea's Short Lensography (Autobiography)

For a long time, I was procrastinating writing "About Me", for the obvious reason that I dislike speaking about myself and somehow the thought of putting myself in a lens was not so in anyway; attractive or a comfortable proposition. After all, in this busy world, I thought who has the time to go through a lensmaster's biodata or browse through the pages that only speak about the lensmaster's interests, views and life? I was wrong, though.

Many times, I find myself captivated by many interesting lenses and lensographies that avid lensmasters have put in Squidoo.

Souvenirs beersteins German Eagle gold 12 Inches

Pajak - Spider of Straw

Moreover, I have come across several veteran lensmaster's pages that make an interesting reading, all talking about their life styles, interests, hobbies and travel experiences. With this context in mind and the inspiration I thought it was high time I wrote a lens that depicted the "Real me" as I know myself, as I am still discovering the many aspects and unknown part of myself.

Autobiography of a Yogi

Autobiography of a Yogi

Autobiography of a Yogi is at once a beautifully written account of an exceptional life and a profound introduction to the ancient science of Yoga and its time-honored tradition of meditation. This acclaimed autobiography presents a fascinating portrait of one of the great spiritual figures of our time.

With engaging candor, eloquence, and wit, Paramahansa Yogananda tells the inspiring chronicle of his life: the experiences of his remarkable childhood, encounter with many saints and sages during his youthful search throughout India for an illumined teacher, ten years of training in the hermitage of a revered yoga master, and the thirty years that he lived and taught in America. Also recorded here are his meetings with Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, Luther Burbank, the Catholic stigmatist Therese Neumann, and other celebrated spiritual personalities of East and West.

The author clearly explains the subtle but definite laws behind both the ordinary events of everyday life and the extraordinary events commonly termed miracles. His absorbing life story becomes the background for a penetrating and unforgettable look at the ultimate mysteries of human existence. Selected as "One of the 100 Best Spiritual Books of the Twentieth Century,"

Autobiography of a Yogi has been translated into 20 languages, and is regarded worldwide as a classic of religious literature. Several million copies have been sold, and it continues to appear on best-seller lists after more than sixty consecutive years in print. Profoundly inspiring, it is at the same time vastly entertaining, warmly humorous and filled with extraordinary personages. Self-Realization Fellowship's editions, and none others, include extensive material added by the author after the first edition was published, including a final chapter on the closing years of his life.

The Story of Walt Disney: Maker of Magical Worlds (Yearling Biography) See 1 customer image Share your own customer ima

The Story of Walt Disney: Maker of Magical Worlds

A fast-paced look at the life and contributions of the man who created Disneyland, Mickey Mouse, and dozens of other cartoons and feature films. Selden enlivens the facts with humorous anecdotes and a cheerful, personable writing style. Errors and inconsistencies are minor. The book lacks an index, bibliography, and master list of films, but includes a section of black-and-white photographs.

Other Disney biographies include DiFranco's Walt Disney: When Dreams Come True (Dillon, 1985; o.p.), which is less detailed than Selden's; Montgomery's fictionalized, abbreviated Walt Disney: Master of Make-Believe (Garrard, 1971), for younger children; and Fisher's The Walt Disney Story (Watts, 1988), for YAs, which focuses more on Disney's film work and overall achievements than on his personal and family life. --Ann W. Moore, formerly at Lane Road Library, Columbus, OH
Copyright 1990 Reed Business Information, Inc.

When Walt Disney was a child, he loved to draw. It's no wonder he grew up to create such memorable and lovable characters as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

Walt Disney spent a lifetime entertaining and delighting millions of children and adults alike--on film, on television, and in his magical kingdoms of Disneyland and Disney world. This is his story.

My Favourite Beverages

beverages

I enjoy drinking tea, in fact I love most of the flavours of tea, Green tea being my favourite. I also drink coffee occasionally; however tea is my favourite beverage. I had been thinking lately to make a lens on tea but could not get the right kick. It is in my wish list.

The best part of the outcome is that there is a lens that I made about the coffee, which talks about the benefits of good old organic coffee. Coffee is one of the most favorite beverages all over the world and is second to none, in fact some people prefer it over beer and wine.

From the beginning of my life, I was interested in the spiritual aspect of the form of life - why we are here and what is the motive we are serving. Many questions surfaces in my mind when I was a kid and I am still trying to find the answers to these queries. I believe each individual has to learn to find the answer for himself/herself.

A work of fiction told from the dog's point of view, it is based upon the true story of an abused dog (in the tradition of 1877's Black Beauty). It reflects many of the unfortunate realities of society in those days, but it had an incredible impact upon the Western world's ideas about humane treatment of animals. Interestingly,...0 points

This is a classic piece of Lomonosov Russian Porcelain. The factory's foundations were laid by Empress Elizabeth in 17th century. A piece of fine craft, the technology was discovered by the Russian scientist Dmitry who developed the art of manufacturing porcelain. The secret that was kept hidden by Chinese for many years was to unfold by Peter who tried to invent the technical details in Russia, though unsuccessfully. Years later his effort bore the fruit when Elizabeth stepped in.
