Squidoo: Money Made, Time Spent, and More!

Ranked #3,289 in Squidoo Community, #264,577 overall

Peak Forum Usage Times, Average Lenses Per Month, Traffic, Average Payouts, and More!

Whether you're just getting started or you're a seasoned lensmaster at Squidoo, money and time are going to be two of your big considerations.

"How much money can I make on Squidoo?" you might ask. And, "How much time will it take?"

That's the reason that I started collecting data from Squidoo users about things such as money made, how they spend their time, how they increase traffic to their sites, and more. I'm hoping that the answers will help optimize our collective experiences here on Squidoo.

This is a lens in progress, and will only work if you answer the questions. You might have to actually track some of your Squidoo behavior to answer correctly - and some of it might surprise you!

Once we've gathered a good amount of data, it will be super useful to lensmasters both new and old, and anyone wondering if Squidoo is right for them. So take some time and answer away!

Update: Polls have recently been added to this lens. If you're visiting for a second time, check to see if there are any you've missed!

How Much Do You Make?

Squidoo Payouts MoneyI know this can be a sensitive topic, but hey, voting is anonymous! Also note that people who have been around on Squidoo for longer tend to vote more in polls (in my experience), so these totals might be skewed towards the high end.

Don't forget that people join Squidoo for a variety of reasons. Some just want to explore their interests, and some people are more interested in directing traffic to other sites than making money.

Please include money that gets donated to charity, and any third-party sales through Squidoo, if possible.

  • has made between $501 and $1,000 on Squidoo to date
  • makes between $100.01 and $500.00 per month

Squidoo Lensmaster Traffic Statistics

How Many Hits Do You Get?

Upside Down CarWe all want our lenses to feel like highways full of cars zooming to and fro, stopping to get gas, buy some fast food, take some pictures, and tell all their friends what a great time they had.

Unfortunately, some of our sites feel more like the picture on the right.

Here are some statistics about lensmasters and traffic that will (hopefully) help get your car back into the upright position.

Remember! All the methods mentioned for getting traffic are good ones, and they work better in concert than individually. Don't give up on a method just because it doesn't show up in the polls!

Analysis

The median responding lensmasters...

  • get between 1,001 and 5,000 visits total per week
  • get between 101 and 500 visits per week to their most visited site
Careful selection of keywords is considered to be the best attractor of traffic, followed distantly by posting links on SquidU.

The most interesting points here were number of lenses, length of time on squidoo and traffic. What I learn from this is that it just takes time to build a portfolio to the point where you are pulling in significant traffic from outside the squidoo community. I get a trickle from inside and outside. Just gotta have patience and perseverance. Thanks for this article.
