squidoo progress and traffic stats after 3 months

This is my personal testimony that it is possible to make money online.

I was very skeptical and almost gave up because I had seen no result until after 2.5 months when I made my first sale!

I admit I'm not making a steady income, but have made $25 a week for the last 3 weeks. And for me its a start:)

I remember reading other squidoo lenses on tips and tricks and many many articles on how to make money online, and most of those people admit they started off just like me, knowing nothing and it also took them three or four or six months to make their first sale. But they just kept going at it and didn't give up, and that is what is eventually going to bring them a steady income from the internet:)

I came across an article about making money online 3 months ago and it really got my interest. I had a bit of very basic HTML knowledge and did some googling to find sites that offer free web hosting.

I came across squidoo and gave it a try.

I built lenses on things I knew about, and things that I enjoy, and took the advice from the article that I'm not going to worry about making money, I'm going to work on building the skills so that I know what works and what doesn't.

I am still learning every day about SEO, blogging, interacting, social networking and all the things I'm sure you've read about.

I've had it a few times that I made a lens, which remained relatively inactive for a few weeks, and then it suddenly picks up and gets a few hundred views for the week, however after a week it dies down in traffic.

My EXCEPTION has been my lens on unique tattoo designs which picked up in traffic after a week of making it and has gotten over 1500 views for the week as you can see above.
It has given me over 15 google ad clickouts and 3 clickbank sales totalling $74!

I am still not totally convinced as to why it is working so well, but I am definetly interested in replicating that success.

So imagine 25$ per week from one lens, and building up similar quality lenses over a period of two years, maybe getting it up to two or three hundred lenses. Lets say only 40 of those bring you 25$ a week, that would be 1000$ a week from squidoo, 4000$ a month...I don't know about you, but for me that is enough to live off so that I dont need a 9-5 job:)

EDIT 18 OCT 08:
I just made my first sales off amazon, totalling $90 gross and my comission is $3.57.
This has taken me over 500 clicks to achieve and I almost thought it was impossible to make money off amazon, but apparently you can.
My sales came from links on my blog Upgrade Reality, where yesterday I received 9000 visitors sent to me from Stumbleupon. Thats pretty insane:)

This is my best performing lens, currently ranked #75!
It alone is receiving 4000-5000 views a week and is ranking well in search engines:)
Have a look at the stats that are possible, and imagine the exposure you get from this much traffic:)

It is now 16 Jan 2009, 6 months after having started my internet journey.

I have now 55 lenses, bringing in $15 a month from Squidoo royalties.
As of today, I have officially crossed the 8000 views per week mark, quite an achievement.:)



So far I have made $600 from direct Clickbank sales through Squidoo, mostly from my top few lenses.

I have one lens in the top 100 and another one currently ranked 225.

To give an update on this lens as to where I am now and my current stats after 9 months from my start with Squidoo.

I have 75 lenses.

Three are sub 1000 rank.

I have received 8500 views for the last 7 days over all my lenses

Unique Permanent tattoo designs is receiving around 800 view a week now.

I have made $1400 from Clickbank through Direct affiliate sales through squidoo:)
