Carlo Powe-Crawford

I'm the founder & owner of the Carlo Corporation, a company comprised of Carlo At Your Service Productions - a luxury, eco-friendly Catering & Special Event and Wedding Planning company with two upcoming services on the horizon - Carlo Lofty High Rise Unique and Carlo Corporate Concierge.

My catering roots began in Hollywood when I joined the catering team at Along Came Mary Productions - the company known for the expertise of it's owner, Mary Miccuci, and her talented group called the "Caterers to the Stars" - who cater to the entertainment industry "A-list" elite. I initially headed to Hollywood to pursue show biz, after earning my Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of TV & Radio Artists union cards in Detroit. Who knew that when I left that I'd get bit by the catering and event planning "bug"! My first love is catering and event planning, although I've continued my SAG/AFTRA affiliations.

President William Jefferson Clinton and Nelson Mandela, to a countless number of film and television heavyweights, my principal affiliation with Along Came Mary Productions was a caterer's dream experience of a lifetime.

Having been an "A-Team" team member of Along Came Mary Productions lends greatly to the indefatigable work ethic that plays a vital role in the diligent work principle that I continue to display.

From movie studios to museums; wineries to woman's groups; from stores and banks to Fortune 500 companies, I experienced being a principal player on many prestigious Special Event teams - including the inimitable production of such events as the Oscar's, the Emmy's, the Grammy's, and the Cable Ace Award fetes, as well as several top level celebrity weddings.

Preparing events at Los Angeles based venues such as the Shrine Auditorium and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and at the homes of many celebrities, added to the television show syndication parties and film premiere events on the studio lots of Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox and MGM/UA - transforming parking lots, beaches, front and backyards, rooftops of parking structures, prepared me for just about everything.

I was fortunate to assist with the production of off-premise premiere parties for films such as "Titanic", "The Nutty Professor", "Braveheart", "Forest Gump", "Mission Impossible", "Interview With A Vampire", "Apollo 13", "Twister" and "Clueless", just to name a few.

To have had the opportunity to train with and work for Mary Micucci, the Founder and Owner of Along Came Mary Productions - the formidable Food Network star of "Behind the Bash" show fame - the woman that I refer to as my "Rock Star", happens to be just one of the great Catering and Special Events experiences that I was blessed and so fortunate to have.

Other providential Los Angeles affiliations of my employ included: Deluxe Motion Picture Catering, Wolfgang Puck Catering, Patina Restaurant Group's Patina Catering, Sequoia Productions - Annual Designer and producer of the Academy Awards Governors Ball, and the private catered events of celebrity personal Chef Cheryl Jones, world renown La Brea Bakery - formerly owned by Master Pastry Chef Nancy Silverton, and celebrity Wedding Planner & Special Event guru Sharon Sacks of Sharon Sacks Productions.

More important than anything that you've just read - I look forward to helping you in any way that I can. My goal here at Squidoo is to create lenses (web pages) that I hope will prove to be interesting and especially helpful.
