There are also many experts on Squidoo to advise you on creating a new lens. See the videos and links on this site. This is most definitely not a complete list-- there are dozens of great educational sites on Squidoo about Squidoo. Find a good one? Add it to the link list below. We will all appreciate that!

The most important little piece of advice I have to offer is that you become active at SquidU. SquidU is a friendly forum where you can meet other lensmasters, ask questions and get real answers, and perhaps help someone else!

Join Groups and support other members. When you join a group, you are committing yourself and your lens to the ultimate success of all. Visit, comment, rate daily.

Squidoo Daily Check List 

1. Check ratings and status of all lenses.
2. Visit SquidU forum, read, ask and answer questions where appropriate.
3. Visit a site on the Isle of Squid and comment.
4. Visit at least 3 sites in groups I have joined and join a few more.
5. Improve lenses in draft stage.
6. Update any lens over a week old. Ping!
7. Visit SquidUtils and learn something new!
8. Launch a new lens.
9. Market any new lenses.
10. Review Top Squidoorati News
11. Twitter - visit and chat - make new friends - Twitter a new lens or an important update.
12. Visit the Lens of the Day!

At the end of the day, ask:
1. Did I create today?
2. Did I market?
3. Did I visit others?
4. Was I a good Squidoo citizen today?
5. Did I keep track of all new ideas?

1. Mention lenses on your blog.
2. Stumble, Digg, etc all new lenses
3. Twitter lenses throughout the week. If you are not twittering, you are missing some great traffic! You will lose your followers if you just post your site upgrades one after the other! One or two links a day is plenty! Interact and reply to comments. Get involved. Find new friends with the same interests.

New Time Management Tricks 

After 9 months on Squidoo, I have learned better how to manage my time.
Keep a little notebook beside your desk. Make a list of any 10-15 minute item you need to do on Squidoo. During your workday, as you have a 10 or 15 minute break, cross one of those things off the list.

What can you do in 10 minutes or less?
Visit another lens.
Update a lens. (This update will take less than 15 minutes total)
Join a group.
Visit SquidU.
Participate in a twttrstrm.

Most of us do not have long uninterrupted blocks of time to work on Squidoo. Keeping a short-time list really helps!

Making lists is helpful! I've been trying to eliminate having so many notes on my desk and have found a way to do that. I send myself an email from my lenses...put a short note in the My Name space, and add my notes and list in the body of the email. Than I can go back to it easy, and I have a direct link to the lens I made notes on...it's saving me time...and less notes piling up.

One question, I tried to figure out Squidom after I added my new lens to Google and guess adding the URL of my lens page wasn't what they were asking for because all it said was 'bummer--Mountainside-Crochet is already taken". ??? Any suggestions? Hope you're having a lovely day. Guess Nancy is still without internet since the 'snow' storm :) I'm sure she's 'itching' to get back on the computer!
