Squidoo Traffic Tips: Flickr Photos
Ranked #3,101 in Squidoo Community, #232,869 overall
What Is Flickr?
Flickr is an image hosting - and now video hosting - website and online community that was purchased by Yahoo! in early 2005 for $35 million and is now valued by some commentators at over $3.5 billion.
Why has its value appreciated at such an incredible rate?
Well, at time of writing, Flickr hosts over 4 billion images and with the astonishing loyalty that social network users have for paradigm-shifting sites (e.g. Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc.), it's likely to house many more billions of images, at least, over the next few years. Simply put, Flickr is the world's digital photo album!

How Can Using Photos From Flickr Benefit Squidoo Lensmasters?
While Flickr's 4 billion photo images (and counting) is a whole lotta snaps - much of which you can view (a significant percentage of the PRO accounts are set to PRIVATE access) - you won't necessarily be able to use all of them for your Squidoo lens building efforts. You can only gain rights to those with a Creative Commons license.N.B.: Kimberly Dawn Wells from Squidoo Management goes into considerable detail about what Creative Commons images are and how you can use them.
However, once you go to the relevant area, there are numerous shots in virtually every category that you can think of which you are permitted to use.
Many are - as you might expect - just run of the mill but others are quite extraordinary and from my perspective, look very impressive.

How Do I Get Access To Flickr's Creative Commons Images?
The answer to that question is simple. Just head over to the Flickr Creative Commons area and start searching!
Then, when you find an image that you like, download it to your computer and upload it to your Squidoo lens workshop, remembering to provide relevant accreditation to the owners of the images in the fields of your Squidoo lens modules.
N.B.: The Squidoo lens building software presently enables you to upload a new image to your modules but won't let you change the info in the fields. If this is the case, you may have to delete the module and then input the new info into the fields.

2 Ways To Generate Squidoo Traffic Using Flickr!
There are two ways that Squidoo members who also belong to Flickr can generate traffic to their Squidoo lenses.- Using Your Own Photos & Images Upload your own photos, using your own Flickr link in the relevant field of the Squidoo lens building module
- Using Other Flickr Members' Photos & Images When you do so, add a courtesy comment - with your Squidoo lens link - on their Flickr photo's page. Often, Flickr members (and their pager visitors) will read your comment and investigate how the image is being used.

- Interesting stuff! I must admit though, I've noticed you use the notation "N.B." in many of your lenses, but I confess I don't know what it stands for. :/

- Isn't it funny how different cultures assume other cultures will understand what they're saying / writing?
"N.B." is Latin for "Note Bene", meaning, literally, "note well" or colloquially, "please take note".
