The Start of Squidoo

Two young, successful, handsome, talented, twin brothers were sitting around the table discussing their recent journeys. They had just graduated from Medical school and Law School respectively. They were very successful, graduating in the top of their class. Being very well respected, they could have their pick of any job they wanted, but alas they were unhappy.

They wanted to do something more creative, but they did not know what. They decided that they would open a truely unique Pet store.

The first ever "Pet Squid" store.

The twin brothers were extremely excited. They ran to the computer in hopes that nobody else had thought of the same idea. They were in luck. The only Pet Squid store was located in Japan.

That night the brothers placed an order for several hundred different types of squid. They were very optimistic stating, "We wil soon be very wealthy, and above all else HAPPY!"

The squid arrived several days later with a strange note of warning:

Whatever you do, DO NOT FEED GOLDFISH TO THE SQUID!

The brothers took heed of the warning...for a while. One day, the brothers were extremely busy selling the squid and becoming very successfull that they forgot to pick up the usual squid food. The only thing that they could find was goldfish.
They decided to check out Google to see what they could find what effect goldfish had on squid. Their results turned up nothing.

"What is the worst that can happen?" one brother asked the other. They were convinced that if it was not on Google then it would be better to feed them, then to let them go hungry. They were dead wrong.

The next day the boys woke up to the most horrible smell they had ever smelt. It was so bad that both brothers got sick to their stomachs. When they gained their composure they went and found their precious squid dead. Devastated, they called a vet in Japan, only to find out that when squid eat goldfish, their poo is potent enough to kill even the largest squid.

The brothers were crushed. If only somebody would have discussed it online, their poor squid would be alive. They vowed to never let that happen again. They were going to create a website to promote the sharing of specialized topics.

In rememberance they would call the site "Squid DooDoo" or Squidoo for short!
