Squidoo's Virtual Jenga #2 - The "About Me" Quest

Ranked #575 in Squidoo Community, #79,188 overall

The 2nd Jenga game is underway!

This is a chronicle of the second Squidoo Virtual Jenga on the SquidU forum.

This one is an "About Me" quest started by Robin.

What a great way to find out more about the fascinating people who write on Squidoo!

Here's how the game works

Photo of a Jenga tower from Wikimedia Commons, courtesy Jason7825One lensmaster chooses another lensmaster and suggests a lens for him/her to make. For this particular quest, all of the lenses will have an "About Me" theme, where the lensmaster will be telling something about themselves.

If you are chosen for a challenge, you have 48 hours to make the lens that was requested. After you make the lens, it's your turn to challenge someone else.

Think of the lenses as a tower, just like in a Jenga game. If someone fails their challenge (doesn't make the lens in 48 hours), then the tower collapses and has to be started over. A lensmaster who is challenged also has the option of passing on their challenge (opting out), but if more than 5 people pass, then the tower also crumbles.

See the history of the first Jenga game!

Virtual Jenga #1 was a ton of fun and produced some amazing lenses. Take a look at all the lenses that were created!

Here are the tower lenses for Virtual Jenga 2!

#1 - Aerome tagged Fitzcharming

Since Aerome built the last lens in the previous Jenga tower, Robin chose him to start the challenges for the new tower. He started things off by asking Wanda (Fitzcharming) to write a lens about her childhood pastimes. Wanda is a native of Florida and decided to write about all the fun places she visited in Florida during its pre-Disney World days.
Loading

#2 - Fitzcharming tagged Kimbesa

After sharing with us about her favorite childhood vacation spots, Wanda decided to ask Kimbesa to be next and make a lens about a favorite dinnerware pattern. Kimbesa blogs about dishes and took the opportunity to make a lens about the first dinnerware pattern she ever bought for her very first home. There's a video in the lens, too! Check it out!
Loading

#3 - Kimbesa tagged Norma_Budden

After showing off her dinnerware, Kimbesa called on Norma_Budden to make the next lens and tell us about living in the arctic area of Nunavut, Canada. Got your warm hat and mittens on? Then read all about it!
Loading

#4 - Norma_Budden tagged OhCaroline

After sharing about life in the Arctic, Norma took us to a place that's as different from Nunavut as you can get! She passed the baton to OhCaroline, asking Caroline to make a lens about how she felt when she moved to Florida.

Caroline turned out a great "About Me" lens on the subject. Moving to Florida was more than a simple change of address for her.
Loading

#5 - OhCaroline tagged Tssfacts

With the story of her journey to Florida completed, Caroline chose Towanda (Tssfacts) to make the next lens. The subject: Towanda's favorite hobby and how she started in it.

Lucky for us, Towanda's hobby is one that makes a visually stunning lens! Be sure to check out her quilt pictures!
Loading

#6 - Tssfacts tagged DecoratingforEvents

After showing us her quilting work, Towanda picked Mandee (DecoratingforEvents) to go next, asking her to make a lens telling us what she wants to be when she grows up.

This was a VERY well-timed request, for reasons that you'll see when you read Mandee's lens!
Loading

#7 - DecoratingforEvents tagged JeremiahStanghini

With her "when I grow up" lens done, Mandee commissioned Jeremiah Stanghini for the next level in the tower. She asked Jeremiah to write a lens about living on the island of Kauai. Prepare to eat your heart out as Jeremiah describes life in one of the most beautiful spots on the planet:

#9 - ItsAngel tagged Serenia

Loading

#10 - Serenia tagged RLivermore

After writing about her favorite spots in Europe, Serenia called on Rebecca (RLivermore) to build the next lens, a lens about the four different US states where Rebecca has lived. The result is a deeply personal lens telling the story of the life changes that brought about each change of residence.
Loading

#11 - RLivermore tagged TheCureForYouthMinistry

After crafting her lens about her moves in life, Rebecca asked Paul (TheCureForYouthMinistry) to share a success story from his work in youth ministry. Paul came back with an inspiring lens that shared several stories of his work with young people. His lens has already received a purple star!

#14 - Titia tagged Tandemonimom

After showing us the other side of Holland, Titia tapped Carma (Tandemonimom) to make a homeschooling lens. Carma gave us a very personal lens telling the tale of her pursuit of a teaching degree and how it inspired her to never send her children to school.

#15 - Tandemonimom tagged _Joan_

Yes, that's me! Carma produced a great lens about her reasons for choosing to homeschool. Next she wanted to see a lens about some consequences of choosing to homeschool. She challenged me to make a lens about our family's homeschooling success stories. Here's what I came up with:
Loading

#16 - _Joan_ tagged Tiff0315

After making my homeschooling successes lens, I extended a challenge to Tiffany (Tiff0315), to tell us about her field of study, psychology. Here's her lens about how she chose psychology as a profession and why she thinks it measures up to social work.
Loading

#17 - Tiff0315 tagged LissaKlar

With her psychology lens done, Tiffany called on Missy (LissaKlar) to make a lens about a favorite childhood memory. Fortunately, Missy 's favorite memories of childhood were well documented with photographs, producing this beautiful lens!
Loading

#18 - LissaKlar tagged Capriliz

After sharing her own family memories with us, Missy asked Carmen (Capriliz) to write a lens sharing an episode in her life as a single parent.

Carmen chose a conflict that she dealt with while her daughter was growing up and used it to give us a glimpse into the challenges of raising a child alone.

Having finished her lens about a cool animal book, Rebecca tapped Crystal (Luvmyludwig), a woman of many interests, to make a lens about one of her newest ones. It turns out that Crystal's latest interest is exercising! She shares her motivations with us on her lens, appropriately using the new Bubblegum Squidoo theme, with all the hearts in it. Keep that heart healthy, Crystal!

#26 - Luvmyludwig tagged Cloudiosify

Loading

#27 - Cloudiosify tagged Javrsmith

With his recipe lens done, Wan Muhammad passed the challenge to Vaughn (Javrsmith), asking him to write a lens about his involvement with computers. Loading

#29 - RinchenChodron tagged Chemknitsblog

Following her personal interests lens, Jessica has chosen Flynn-the-Cat as the lensmaster to take up the mantle for the next lens. Jessica asked Flynn to write a "where I grew up" lens. Loading

#35 - PaulOnBooks tagged Gods_grace_notes

After making his desert island lens, Paul called on Connie (Gods_grace_notes), asking for a crafting lens. Connie has made lots of crafting lenses, but she went really personal with this one, talking about the history of her interest in crafting, how her crafting affects her life, and how her life affects her crafting (just read it, you'll understand).
Loading

#36 - Rms tagged Catbehaviors

Things are uber-busy in Connie's life right now, including the soon arrival of a new grandchild, so she asked Robin to do the next tag. Robin chose Catbehaviors and asked her to make a lens about one cat product that she wouldn't be without. Some people would have taken that as an opportunity to hawk some kind of expensive stuff, but Catbehaviors shows us how to make something your cat will adore without breaking the bank.
Loading

#37 - Catbehaviors tagged ACreativeDream

Catbehaviors, having finished her "indispensable cat product" lens, passed the baton to Irune (ACreativeDream), asking her to write a lens about her experience in web design. Here's Irune's primer, drawn from her experience:
