Squidoo Modules for Selling

With the Amazon module, you can feature certain products from Amazon.com, include your own reviews and make money for yourself or your charity.

It's really simple to use once you've added the module to your page. You can check out my Squidoo Writing Modules lens to learn how to do this if you're not sure.

All you do is click the orange "edit" button to enter your editor. Then follow these steps:

1. Add a title.

2. Add a subtitle (optional).

3. Add a description (optional).

4. Set your display options:
- choose some or all of the following: title, rank, release date, list price, picture, availability, Amazon price & used price
- choose to use the thumbnail view or not

5. Choose to pick your products yourself or have Amazon pick (but don't let Amazon pick!).

6. Enter your products yourself:
- enter the links or ASINs of your products, 1 per line
- click "Add Items"

7. Or click "Help me find products" (this is easiest):
- enter your search term
- choose product type
- click "Find It"
- click "Add This Product" when you find what you want
- click "More" to search through more pages
- click "All Done" when you're finished
- reorder the products if necessary

8. Save.

The Amazon Spotlight module lets you do the same thing as the Amazon module, but you can focus in on just one item. It has been noted by some Squidoo Lensmasters that sales increase with the Amazon Spotlight.

It's really simple to use once you've added the module to your page. You can check out my Squidoo Writing Modules lens to learn how to do this if you're not sure.

Once you have the module added, all you do is click the orange "edit" button to enter your editor & follow these steps:

1. Add a title.

2. Add a subtitle if desired.

3. Add a description (optional).

4. Set your display settings:
- choose one or more from the following: title, rank, release date, list price, picture, availability, Amazon price & used price
- choose to use the thumbnail view or not

5. Choose to let Amazon pick your product (not recommended) or pick yourself.

6. If you choose to select your own products, enter the link or ASIN of the product in the line.

7. Or click "Help me find a product" and follow these steps:
- enter your search term
- choose product type
- click "Find It"
- click "Add This Product" when you find what you want to spotlight
- click "More" to go through more pages
- your product will appear in the line when you've selected it

8. Write a blurb about why your product is worth spotlighting (a review).

9. Save.

The Amazon MP3 module is really cool because your visitors can listen to music or other recordings right on your lens and then make their purchase.

6. Enter a title for the widget.

I think that the Amazon Search module is really valuable. Not only can you show top results for your topic, but your visitors can search for more right from your lens and you get the royalties from any sales for yourself or your charity!

The Amazon Voting module (also called a Plexo) features your favorite products for your topic and adds fun for your readers. They can vote for their favorites and even add their own items to the list.

It's really simple to use once you've added the module to your page. You can check out my Squidoo Writing Modules lens to learn how to do this if you're not sure.

Then all you do is click the orange "edit" button to enter your editor & complete these steps:

1. Add a title.

2. Add a subtitle (optional).

3. Add a description (optional).

4. Choose your display options:
- select how many items to display
- choose whether or not to include one line descriptions
- choose whether or not to use thumbnail views
- allow down voting, or choose not to allow it

5. Choose how to handle submissions:
- let people contribute or not
- if you let people contribute, choose when you want contributions approved (right away or after your approval) and whether or not you want to receive an email for approval

6. Choose to share the plexo or not.

7. Add products to your list:
- choose to let Amazon pick (don't) or pick yourself
- enter links or ASINs . . . or click "Help me find products"
- if you choose help, enter your search term
- choose your product type
- click "Find It"
- click "Add This Product" when you find what you want
- click "More" to search through more pages of items
- click "All Done" when you're finished

8. Save.
