The Standard Squidoo Lens
Hope ya like it, you're looking at it now.
This is the first lens type and the standard style lens for most squidoo lenses. It's basic, clean, and simple. It's a three colum design with the content in the middle. The color scheme not, to fancy, orange header and with orange links, black text on a white background.
Hold your tentacles here. The Basic layout has changed. I would describe it, but... you can see it, you are looking at it, and its changed a few times over the past few months, so rather than keep on and then scratching it out to describe it, I'll just let you look at it, so this is it, the basic Squidoo Lens Layout. SquidBiz
SquidBiz was designed with eBay in mind. (And why not, eBay and Squidoo go hand in hand). It is basically the same layout as the standard lens and designed for eBayers. Buyers can list their favorite sellers or seller can promote their own good or other partners. The main difference is in the header. The SquidBiz header sports the eBay Squid logo along with the a more transparent orange background with rounded corners. Much more styelish, if you ask me. Squidbiz lenses add several modules geared towards ebay and you can simply customize them by entering an eBay ID or store name.Here's a screen shot
Squidboo
Lenses dedicated to Halloween and Halloween Costumes
Squidboo, I believe was the third lens style released after the basic Squidoo and the Squidbiz styles. Squidboo is about lenses dedicated to halloween. It uses the basic style lens curves the header at the bottom just a bit and uses the Squidboo logo. I didn't have a Squidboo lens so I created one, just now, in under two minutes. Incedentally, Squidboo mostly resembles the original Squidoo layout.
The Ever Project
Then Came the Ever Project. The ever project sports the first major change in design, a stylish white background and blue links and a two colum design. It also is the only one of all of Squidoo Lens formats to have a differnt URL other than Squidoo.com/your_lens_url. The ever project lenses are designed to look similar to a newspaper article with the big EXTRA EXTRA at the top only it reads something like - Squidoo: The Greatest Lenses Ever
This project is a joint venture between Squidoo and Digimedia, owners of ever.com. Check out, The Best eBay Secrets Ever

SquidFlix
SquidFlix was designed to promote users to create lenses based on movies or television. It has the same basic design as the Ever Project, the main differnece being a hollywood-esque Squidflix logo. It also uses the Magic build to build your lens just by filling in a few blanks. It's focus is on the movies or tv shows and spotlights your topic from Amazon. Check out my lens on Alien Vs. Squidwho
Squidwho was designed to promote lenses being built about people or groups of people. Similar in design to the Squidflix and Ever Project, it has a grey header with big text displaying Who is: Insert name here: It has slightly narrowed page margin as well. It also uses the Magic Build and includes Wiki, Flikr, eBay, and several, other modules Magic Built with the Person's Names as keywords.

This is brand new!
In fact I just discovered it today(well the day that I discovered it anyway, not necessarily the day that you are reading this). Hey MonkeyBrain Features a new design, which I kinda like. Nothing wrong with orange, but this ain't got no orange in it all. It's a red on white theme with black text. It is designed for debating, its all about debating. It magic builds your lens and sets it up for arguing or debating.I was curious as to whether it was worth it to keep an eBay store and would love to hear some feedback from the Squidoo Community.

Then there's Squid Vids. A Lens Layout designed to for videos. The Squidvid Design features two colums on a yellowish background. To Create a SquidVid Lens simply enter a few keywords and it MagicBuilds your page loaded with youtube voting modules. Squidoo "Special" Lens Layouts
Then there are some special Squidoo layouts. I don't know how these get created, how they get approved, or whose Squid you have to lick to get your own, but for some reason, there are some special layouts for Squidoo Lenses. Here is an example of one by Relache. Relache's Layout is designed for Tattoos, piercings, or other body modification topics and uses a three column layout with a custom red header logo. When you build one of these, there are several modules with content imported by default by Relache. Here's my Paul Booth Tattoos Lens along with a screen shot below:
