A New Twist on Squidoo Directories

There are several sites around that help you promote your Squidoo lens and separate you from the rest of the pack. Getting your lens noticed and getting traffic to it is one of the best ways to get your message out to the most people. The SquidPedia is one of the newest Directories of Squidoo Lenses and it can help you do just that!

How Does SquidPedia Work?

What is a point based directory?

Squidpedia allows Lensmasters to do 2 things:

1) Submit Lenses for Listing in a searchable directory.

2) Earn Points to Upgrade listings and rise to the top of the SquidPedia rankings.

Submitting lenses is free, and there are a large variety of ways to earn points to upgrade your listing.

SquidPedia Lens Submission Guidelines

In order to ensure that lenses that are submitted to SquidPedia are of the highest quality there are a few minimum requirements that we ask each lens have before we accept it to list in the directory.

  • Fully published and searchable through Squidoo (no un-published or Adult lenses, please)

  • No default Module titles

  • Introduction Picture and text in the introduction

  • No 'Great Stuff from Amazon/Ebay' Module titles

  • Please make sure your lens meets these basic requirements before you submit it.

Earning Points at SquidPedia

How to Move your Lens up the ranks

There are 3 main ways to earn points for your SquidPedia entry so it can move up the ranks of the best Squidoo lenses and be the first one that people see when they search by letter, category, or sitewide.

You can usually see the available options for earning points by clicking on the 'Upgrade Listing' link for your Squidoo lens.

1) Donations - In order to keep the SquidPedia servers up and running and maintain and review all of the listings that come in, time and effort is spent by several lensmasters including myself. Since the site is completely free to use, donations are always greatly appreciated. In order to make this easy, every upgrade page has an option to make a paypal donation to SquidPedia. For each dollar donated, your listing earns 1 point!

2) SquidPedia Partners - SquidPedia has also partnered with several other companies that believe that the products and services that they offer might be of use to our visitors. By completing an offer with one of your partners, you can earn more valuable points for your listing. The amount of points you can earn vary and the offers include things like signing up to take surveys, trying out new websites, or buying a product or service. Some of the offers are completely free, others offer free trials of their services and still others require a purchase of a product. We plan to add new partner offers and opportunities as time goes on.

3) Special Promotions - From time to time SquidPedia will also run special promotions where visitors can earn free points for their listings. Some of the Promotions may be ongoing and some may only last for a limited time. The only place to find a full list of these promotions is right here on this page. Individual websites offering promotions will have their promotions listed on their sites as well.
