Is there a chance?

Many forums ban using God, Jesus, Christ and many other Christian related words yet allow profanity. The word God gets bleeped out and D_MN left behind in GD. Why should SQUIDOO be any different? Nearly everyone is afraid of a lawsuit or not being PC. Are these phrases offensive to an Atheist or Agnostic? How far should separation of church and state go?

As far as I know, SQUIDOO is not considering the ban of Christian lenses and as far as separation or church and state go... well, SQUIDOO is not a government agency but why the ban in all the forums? Is this a possibility for the SQUIDOO community? Sure it's possible. Can your voice make a difference? Sure it can. While there is no proposed ban at this time, have you noticed the categories for SQUIDOO? We have several to choose from; even a section for pornography but nothing for religion. Why?

What if you are an Atheist, should you be subjected to what you believe is a fallacy in a professional environment?
Do you think SQUIDOO should ditch the porn section?

I don't believe they will. I came to this lens tonight, and others, as I knew that we are a minority here, and I believe I had better 'get on with it' in creating more lenses for Jesus. If we cannot or will not stand up and create true Christian lenses..........who will?

Squidoo should ban lenses based on harmfull content or if it was obvious that the lens was being used to channel harmful content! Squidoo has to decide what is considered harmfull content and why!

Of course Religion should be a category - this is America - there should be no hesitation to stand up for the principles the country was founded upon - Judeo/ Christianity and freedom of religion.

I don't think Squidoo should ban any religious lenses. If someone doesn't like your lens they can leave or go make one of their own. A Religion category is a great idea, even if they lump it in with philosophy.

People have the choice wether they want to read lens on God or not. If they read it and then complain about it it just shows how sad their existence is. 5*.

oops! My last entry was cut off! My point was if people can create lenses on porn, then Christians should certainly be able to practice their freedom of speech here, as well! Great lens

Ha ha! So you can understand my shock when my little Christian homemaking lens won Lens of the Day on a site that has a whole Adult section... ;)

Amen! What a thoughtful and very needed lens. Thank you for bringing up the topic of a religion category on Squidoo. I think it's a great idea!

Modest Needs

Find out moreThis and every lens made by Forgiven (Scott Smith) proudly donates all proceeds to Modest Needs.

Founded in 2002, Modest Needs is an award-winning charity that works to stop the cycle of poverty before it starts for low-income workers struggling to afford emergency expenses like those we've all encountered before: the unexpected auto repair, the unanticipated trip to the doctor, the unusually large winter heating bill.

At Modest Needs, we believe that EVERY person has the power to make a difference. So, by choice, the work we do at Modest Needs is funded exclusively by the 'small change' donations of people just like you.

The average gift of these extraordinary people? Between $5 and $100 at a time.

Since 2002, our donors' 'small change' has stopped the cycle of poverty for 3651 individuals and families who stood to lose everything over a short-term financial emergency. But with your support, we could reach even more of the hard-working people who need our help the most.

Discover your power to change a life. Please join your friends and neighbors in supporting Modest Needs.

Because Modest Needs has earned the highest possible charity rating from the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance, you can give with confidence, knowing that we won't abuse your kindness.

But more importantly, simply by working together in this very modest way, we can make sure that no hard-working person is ever forced to choose between taking a child to the doctor and putting food on the table.

About Forgiven

I am a simple man with a wife, a baby in the oven and 2 kids that are well done =).  I make mistakes, I hurt, I cry, I love and I live. I am just a man with no degrees or labels. I offer something that can never be taken or forced, never stolen or cheated and I give freely the gift given to me; purchased at the highest cost. The most important and sacred gift of all -Love! Dig deeper, walk with me and discover the source of this amazing gift.

The majority of these lenses are designed to inspire Christians to reach for a new level in becoming kingdom minded and less worldly. While it may seem that I assume everyone is a Christian; that could not be further from the truth. I understand that the Christian movement has not grown in ages in America. My personal mission is to share Jesus Christ by giving the living testimony of my life and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to inspire and convict. Put simply, I am powerless and lowly but the Spirit within me is only limited by how much I get in the way. I am learning to "walk".

All too often people are shown the gospel of Christ and then left to figure the rest out on their own so to speak. It is my prayer that the journey or "The Walk" will not be alone, that we will become what we were designed to be: -We are the Church!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and God bless,
Scott Smith
