Let's Celebrate Everyday in February!

Sally Celebrations, Squidooville's resident Celebrationista, has just one goal for the upcoming year. She wants to make Squidoo THE GO-TO PLACE for celebration information but she needs your help.

You see Sally noticed that Squidoo is jam-packed with fun festivities for all the really big holidays like Halloween and Christmas but when it comes to some of the smaller daily, weekly, and monthly observances, like Thank a Mailman Day and International Flirting Week... well... there's not as much.

That's why Sally is offering a monthly SquidQuest throughout 2012 for lensmasters who love to celebrate to help them spread good cheer throughout the entire year.

To complete the second monthly SquidQuest and collect 200 SquidPoints, Sally asks you to build a lens for a lesser known holiday, celebration or observance that takes place during the month of February.

We'll feature the best of the bunch in a special post at Squidoo HQ and dust spectacular lenses with Purple Stars.

Time to Party!

To complete the Silly Celebrations SquidQuest for February you'll need to choose an oddball holiday to celebrate that occurs in February.
  • 1Build a lens about an oddball, weird, wacky or unique holiday that occurs in February.

    Tell us the history of the holiday and be sure to include fun ways to celebrate it such as foods, beverages, decorations, games, costumes or anything else we'd need to make celebrating the occasion more fun. Make your new lens spectacular and even more fun by including polls, quizzes, videos, photos, and anything else you can find.
  • 2Submit your NEW February silly celebration lens before midnight (EST) on February 25, 2012 using the Quest Tab on your dashboard to "Complete the Quest".

    I am getting so frustrated!! I published my lens .. had two "Likes" on it and now it is showing up down in the WIP section again. I have reported the bug and now have an answer from HQ with a # but ??? not sure whether they'll have it fixed in time for this quest.

    Question: Can I publish a lens in February that I would submit for the March Silly Celebrations quest? I have one that is almost complete and I'd like to publish it so that friends can proof read it. Thanks.

    YES - you are allowed to publish wacky holidays no more than one month in advance for this quest. So a March holiday lens can be published in February and a December holiday lens can be published in November. All the other months in between have the same rule.

    Well I posted my lens on Leap Year and its not Leap Year day yet...
    I have just made a new lens for the day after Leap Year day - March 1st - and am posting this one today because I want people to know about it NOW. This one is for March!!
    I think I remember Robin saying you could post up to a month in advance but no more than that. So this lens should still be eligible. This is for Purple Cake Day - in support of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. http://www.squidoo.com/purple-cake-day
