If you've received this special Zazzler's Only SquidQuest, you probably already know how great Zazzle and Squidoo work together to promote your Zazzle products so we won't bore you with the details about how easy it is to add your Zazzle links to a text module here at Squidoo.

Instead, we'll get right to the point.

This SquidQuest was designed to help you, the Zazzling Squidooer, take what you already know about combining two of the best sites on web, Zazzle and Squidoo, and help you learn how to build better and more successful Zazzle lenses. We're talking about lenses that really show off your unique talent as both a lensmaster and a Zazzle artist.

And since this is a fun SquidQuest, we're going to offer you a chance to grab 200 SquidPoints if you take and complete this Quest before midnight on January 14, 2012.

Tips for Creating Successful Zazzle Lenses

  • 1Choose a super focused topic for your lens.

    For example, instead of making a lens about baby shower invitations in general, try making a lens about green baby shower invitations, or even green turtle baby shower invitations. If you're a designer who creates wedding stationery at Zazzle, think about crafting a lens solely devoted to featuring all of the items you've made for one of your designs. Focused lenses make it easier for the search engines to connect you with a customer who is looking for a specific item.
  • 2Add your own original written descriptions and reviews of the products you are posting for sale on your lens.

    Tell your reader what the product looks like, what it can be used for, and why they would want to purchase one.
  • 3Give your lens a little personality. Create a personable lens experience for your readers by sharing a story about why you decided to create a particular design, what gave you the idea for your shop name, or why you enjoy selling your designs at Zazzle. Putting a real person behind the product goes a long way towards building trust with your readership.

Using the Zazzle Module

Yes, Squidoo has a special module, just for Zazzlers!

This is an example of a Zazzle module being used to promote the official Squidoo Zazzle shop.

It's true, using the Zazzle module won't garner you a referral fee if you use it and sell something, but you will get the royalty money so it's an easy way to show off a few things you've created at your own shop while also giving your lens a bit of eye candy.

You can set the Zazzle module to show 3, 6, or 9 products which are filtered by your choice of keyword and category.

Make a NEW Zazzle lens!

  • 1Using the tips you learned in this SquidQuest, create a new lens to show off some of your Zazzle products.
  • 2Show off your products on the lens using either the Zazzle module OR by embedding the link into a cleverly written text module.
  • 3Submit the link to your new Zazzle lens using the Quest Tab on your DashBoard before midnight [EST] January 14, 2012 to collect +200 SquidPoints.

    this would be much easier if you would include ALL the product types on the drop down selection tool!!!! you have like 10 of like 50 different product types!!! you make this so much more difficult then it needs to be - this is part of why i STOPPED using zazzle modules.

    I created a Zazzle Code generator to help create the HTML code for a Zazzle product to slot into a Text Module, instead of doing it the hard way. Just follow the Zazzle instructions to get the Affiliate Link, then paste that into this page http://poddys.com/zazzle/index.php - the result looks the same as the Squidoo Zazzle Module (3 abreast) or you can generate the code for a large image. Hope this helps save time. I hope to create more formats/options if the demand is there.
