Sultry and Rough
Garbage is an alternative rock group comprised of the unusual talent of a Scottish singer and three record producers. Formed in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1994, the band members are Duke Erikson, Shirley Manson, Steve Marker and Butch Vig.
Garbage started strong with their first album, Garbage, and road a wave of successful singles in '95 and '96. Garbage went double platinum and was a hit in the United States, the UK, and Australia, led by the smash single, "Stupid Girl."
Garbage had successes and failures covering ten years before the group went on a permanent hiatus in 2005, prematurely ending its tour supporting Bleed Like Me. The group is supposedly not broken up and may be working on current projects, including a possible 2008 album. (Wikipedia, 2007)
