I've been a lensmaster at Squidoo since February 2007, at least that's what it says on my lensmaster page. It seems much shorter.

I spend waaay too much time here because it's just so much fun. And, yes, it's highly squiddicting. So much so that I've created over 50 quality lenses which promoted me to Giant Squid status in July 2008.

After a year-long gig as SquidAngel I'm devoting most of my time networking on the SquidLog lensmaster network. If you haven't been there yet I'm inviting you to check it out sometime.

My Groups

Or rather, lenses formerly known as groups...

There used to be a time when we had "Groups" on Squidoo. Somehow, they couldn't keep up with the direction Squidoo was taking, so they've been "degraded" to ordinary lenses. To be honest, it is a lot of work to maintain a useful group of sorts, and it's mostly a one-way street. The so-called members are not really contributing anything else but a link to their lens, and then are usually never seen or heard from again. The only reason why I don't delete them is the sentimental value of all the hard work I once put in to create these groups. Plus the faint hope that I'll be able to make something better out of this, one fine day...

California Lenses

California is my current habitat of choice. Naturally, a few of my lenses deal with places and cities in The Golden State. If you only want to check out the better ones, have a look at "Red Rock" and "Joshua Tree" - I frequent those places every year and take some nice pictures, if I may say so myself.

The others are, well, not totally bad, but not quite remarkable either. I just made them so I could have a relevant backlink to somewhere else. Crazy, huh?

More Travel and Places Lenses

This is just a grab bag of mediocre travel lenses. Funny thing is, I love to travel. I did a lot of traveling before I had kids, and when I had more money than I needed for the basic necessities. There was just not enough time left in my day to put some more effort into these lenses. Quebec actually gets quite a bit of traffic, which never ceases to surprise me. ;)

These topics kind of suffer from a bad reputation because of all the spammers and scammers in these niches. However, I believe my lenses are decent enough, especially Paid Surveys and Car Loans. I know, the topics have been done to death, but these are all genuine personal recommendations I write about. Really! Check them out, I'm not ashamed of them (and if you know me, that means a lot...)

My Music Lenses

This collection is quite thin, I admit. There are a whole lot of lenses in my mind that still need to be created in this department. But you know, the Last Beatles Concert is really one of my favorite lenses. It's even been "Lens of the Day", and Megan Casey, our Editor-in-Chief, had some nice things to say about it as well. That made me quite happy, I can tell you.

Real Estate and Home Finance were foremost on my mind at the time I started squidooing. These lenses still need some work to be really outstanding, but my interests have evolved since I created them. I hope to find the time to polish them some more to make them worthy of your time. If it weren't for the fact that I make an occasional affiliate product sale I would probably hide them bashfully under an anonymous lensmaster account.

Just For Fun

An eclectic mix of topics, if ever there was one. You would not believe the crazy amount of traffic I got to the tattoo lens at some point in time. I guess one of the images was on the first page of Google's Image Search, although my stats weren't telling me where they came from. It lasted for 3 sweet months, then zap, from one day to another it was all over. I can tell you, that is gut-wrenching but what can you do? Just move on...

Oh, that Orange County Choppers lens got my first purple star, by the way. I have no clue why.

My Worst Lenses

Trust me, they're really bad

When I first started out on my Squid adventures, I was full of the weirdest ideas. Not really being a hardcore marketer, I soon found out that it was easier to write about topics that I'm either very knowledgeable or very passionate about.

My worst lenses are all from that initial period when I thought I need to write about popular topics. Oh well, I also found out that it's hard to let go of unloved lenses which is why I didn't delete them yet. You know what they say about mothers and ugly faces...

If you see an ugly duckling that warms your heart (or stimulates your creative juices, or fits in well with your other lenses) give me a shout. Maybe we can get them to better homes.

Sports Lenses

Sports - ? Me - ? What was I thinking? Most of these lenses were created with my hubby in mind. I wanted to recruit him with topics that would interest him. Didn't quite work out though.

I squidoo, and so can you!

Building lenses on Squidoo is fast, easy, and fun. You can get up and running in just a few minutes. Ha, ha, that's what they'll tell you to hook and reel you in. Sure, it's very easy to start but if you leave it at that you're not going to get anywhere. It takes a lot of dedication and plain old hard work to make a lens that's remarkable.

The good news is, it is indeed fairly easy to get started. And seasoned lensmasters are bending over backwards and sideways to help anyone who's interested. There is probably nothing about the lensmaking process that hasn't been explained in great detail by another Squidoodler.

The other good news is that you can earn a bit of money, either for your own piggy bank or for your favorite charity. Or both, you alone decide how you want to split your earnings. How much can you make with one lens? Oh, anywhere from $0.07 to $1,000 has been documented here.
