Stop the Squirrels from Ruining your Bird Watching

As a birdwatcher, there is nothing more annoying than having a squirrel eat all the food out of the bird feeder. This has happened to me a number of times, and has caused me to miss a number of rare birds that come to our home to eat.

After being frustrated a number of times, I finally decided to get a Squirrel proof bird feeder, and all of my problems went away.

Buy a squirrel proof bird feeder right now and go back to enjoying watching birds - without those pesky squirrels causing problems.

Protecting your Bird Feeder from Squirrels

Has never been easy - until now.

To make the birds feel safe outside in my yard, I have installed squirrel proof bird feeders to make sure that the squirrels don't get into their food supply. I decided to go this route after watching a couple of squirrels get into my old bird feeders and I decided that it was time to take action.

Most of the squirrel-proof bird feeders are designed to make it extremely hard (if not impossible) to get the food out of the bird feeder. This can be done in a variety of ways including:

  • Tall birdfeeders so that the squirrel cannot stretch and get to the food

  • Weight sensitve perches that spin when a squirrel tries to grab on to them

  • Flimsy perches that flex under a squirrel weight, letting them fall to the ground

The goal of these bird feeders is to stop and discourage the squirrels from getting the food that you have put in the feeder for your birds, and for the most part they are very effective.
