Squishables

I absolutely adore Squishables! I don't even remember how I first heard about them or bumped into them online. Once I did, though - I was HOOKED!! Then I put on my sweet "bat my eyes at my Momma, puppy dog" face and told her that I just had to have one for Christmas - that was in 2008. And of course, I just had to have the elephant - I just love elephants!

My mom was a dream (as usual) and sent me the Squishable for Christmas. This is me on Christmas morning with him. The first name that came to mind was "Heffalump" - from the Winnie the Pooh song, "Heffalumps and Woozles".

Shortly thereafter, one of the elephant ladies at The Elephant Sanctuary passed away. So then I wanted to have him be a her and name her after Zula, the elephant that had died. I even stuck a post in my drafts in blog (that I never finished! Oh those unfinished drafts!) and I called the post, "Zula, My Sweet Heffawump".

So you can see by this point that Heffalump had already turned into Heffawump. And though it would have been really cool, the name 'Zula' just never stuck. And it's such a cool name, too. And I just love The Elephant Sanctuary - it would be so amazing to go work there! And it's just three hours from my house! And now I'm completely rambling about ellies and TES when I'm supposed to be telling you all about Squishables! LOL!

Well, nowadays, my darling Squishable is just called "Heffy". I make sure any houseguest hearing me say that for the first time know COMPLETELY that it has NOTHING to do with Hugh Hefner. Ha! I don't even know if I spelled his name correctly! No, my darling is named after a Winnie the Pooh song!
