Galle plays host to a famous world heritage fort complex, of ancient monuments and forts carved out of rock and stone. Kurunegala is also worth a visit for its beautiful coconut plantations and paddy fields. You can also visit the nearby rainforests and stay in the lap of nature. Stunning vistas are cradled by the national parks of Ruhunu and Wilpattu. They also contain within them numerous wildlife sanctuaries which preserve animals of diverse species.
Waterfalls are an integral part of the Lankan landscape. The widest waterfall is called the St. Claire waterfall and it is frequented by tourists who also walk around the locality taking in the sheer natural beauty of the place.

There are also many people who come to Sri Lanka to sample the local Buddhist monasteries and marine sanctuaries. When staying there you can rent holiday accommodation and get into the local culture instead of checking in and out of an impersonal hotel. That way you get the real flavor of the local culture and food. You can have the ultimate Sri Lanka luxury vacation by spending it either in the lap of nature or amidst its vibrant culture.
