In Sri Lanka you can run around to every nook and corner of the country to look for pleasures which you would have only read about elsewhere.

In a more or less pleasant tropical weather Sri Lanka can boast of one of the most exotic wilderness in the world. The wildlife also is one of the major attractions. There is the Hill Country part from the forests where you could come in touch with a different natural treasure, of the highlands and long walks along the hillside, go to the tea gardens. The beach line of course is legendary and exhibits the widest range of water sports like water skiing or surfing or even scuba diving and snorkeling.

After you have taken a dip in the blue waters of the Indian Ocean you could move to the UNESCO recognized heritage sites. The ancient capitals of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa welcome you with all their historical warmth and eloquent architecture. Along with the spread out temples and the dagobas in these two sites you could visit Kandy to see the relic of Lord Buddha at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. If you are there in August you could also attend the Kandy Perahera, 10 days long Buddhist celebration.

You could visit Sigiriya to see the frescoes and the rock fortress made out of a 100m high rock. A little distance from there you would find Dambulla which has a huge man made cave complex which has incredible carved statues of the Buddha. Again along the south coast line there is Galle, 15th century Portuguese fort overlooking the beach. This place is also renowned for the seafood spread that it offers. The tropical holiday is nothing without a trip to the Sinharaja rain forest which gives you all the thrills of a typical tropical jungle trip. All you need to know is about Sri Lanka resorts now to bring alive you're your travel dreams and fulfill them.

Try and locate a comfortable resort somewhere around the tourist spots we mentioned earlier. Actually there are a lot more places where you might want to stay to live the best Sri Lanka holiday. Most people don't learn of the 263m high Bambarakande water-falls. Or even the Parakrama Samudra, a 5600 acres big man-made lake in Polonnaruwa. Along with the more known "dos" on a Sri Lankan holiday like Pinnawela elephant orphanage or Adam's Peak there are attractions like a visit to the indigenous rural set up of Vedda village inhabited by people who are there from before the Singhalese civilization of the Island or even the Hummanaya at Kuda Wella, the second largest blowhole in the world. The Madunagala Hot Water Wells are quite a treat too.

Colombo of course could serve as the center of your tour plan. It is well connected to the other parts of the country in virtue of being the capital and the biggest city in the country. This city too has temples and churches and museums galore. The zoo is a major crowd puller along with the art galleries. If you are in Colombo, definitely check out the century-old Clock Tower, the British colonial set ups, the old Parliament in Fort, and Buddhist and Hindu religious places.

But the best place to find Sri Lanka resorts would be the beaches. There would be nothing like a beach resort. There are plenty of beaches along the north, south, east and west coastlines of Sri Lanka. Up north coast you can find Jaffna, mannar Island. The south coast beaches are Beruwela, Bentota, Ambalangoda, Hikkaduwa, Galle Unawatuna, mirissa, tangalla and Weligama. In the west coast, the prime beaches are Negombo and Mount Lavinia. The east coast has Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Kalkudah, Nilaveli, passekudah and Arugam Bay.
