St. Patricks Day Crochet Cupcake Pattern

St. Patrick's Day Crochet cupcake pattern is my first lens for the Cupcake club. Although it isn't edible it can still be used to celebrate. See the ninja topper I made for it?

Supplies:
G crochet hook
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Poly fiber fill
Vanna's Choice Toffee
Vanna's Choice Little Boy Blue
Pattern
Cardboard for base (I used a cereal box)

Stitches:
chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, increase single crochet, decrease single crochet, puff stitch

Techniques:
You'll also need to know how to change colors.

Pattern: Chocolate Cupcake

Part 1: Base Cake

Cupcake bottomUsing Toffee yarn (chocolate or whatever you'd like the cake to be)
G hook

ch2
1: 6sc in second stitch from hook
2: 2sc in each stitch around (12)
3: 1sc in first st, 2sc in next stitch. (increase made) *repeat this around* (18)
4: 1sc in first 2stitches, 2sc in next stitch **repeat this around* (24)
5: 1sc in first 3stitches, 2sc in next stitch *repeat this around* (30)

Working in Back Loops only for this round
6: sc in each stitch around

7-10: sc in each stitch around, change to green in last stitch

11: sc in each stitch around

Working in Front Loops Only this row
12: [1sc, 1hdc, 1sc] all in first stitch, skip next stitch **Repeat this pattern all around** skip the last stitch, sl st in the first st made. End off and weave in ends.

Base:
Cut a piece of cardboard from the cereal box (or whatever you have) the size of the inside of the bottom cake. This will make it so your cupcake stands up nicely on a table or desk.

Part 2: Puff Stitch frosing

Green IcingYou will be working a Puff stitch from now on.

Puff stitch: yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop,(3loops on hook) [yarn over insert in same stitch, yarn over pull up a stitch]5-loops, [yarn over insert in same stitch, yarn over pull up a stitch]7-loops, yarn over, pull through all 7loops, sc to close stitch **Note this top stitch is where you will be crocheting into in future rows**

With green yarn and g hook
ch2, [hdc puff stitch]

1:6puff stitches in 2nd stitch from hook
2: 2puff stitches in each stitch around ,**top closing sc**, , sl st into the top of first puff stitch. (12)
3: 1puff stitch in top of first puff st, 2puff stitches in top of next puff stitch, **repeat around** (18) sl st into the top of first puff stitch
4: 1puff stitch in top of each puff stitch **repeat this around**(18) sl st into the top of first puff stitch made
5: 1 puff stitch in top of each puff stitch **repeat this around** (18) sl st into the top of first puff stitch made
End, leaving a long tail (18inches long)

Stuff with Fiber fill, Sew top (green), with a whip stitch using the 'open' stitch 'Back Loop' from row 12.

Just before closing the cupcake, Stuff with more polyfiber fill, whip stitched closed. end off. weave in loose ends.

P.S. You could also add some Lavender or other herb or potporri in with the polyfiber fill for a lovely and cute Sachet.
