Staind Band History and Music Videos
In the ever-unfolding and expanding musical lives of multi-platinum Massachusetts-based band STAIND, CHAPTER V opens the book on a new phase of their journey. The 12-song album, produced by David Botrill (Tool, Godsmack) features the first single, the classic, mid-tempo and dynamic 'Right Here,' as well standouts like the edgy, dark 'Falling,' the poignant, retro-feeling 'Schizophrenic Conversations,' and the soaring 'Everything Changes.'

A brief history on the band Staind
* Aaron Lewis - vocals, guitar
* Mike Mushok - guitar
* Johnny April - bass guitar, backing vocals
* Jon Wysocki - drums, percussion
CHAPTER V is Staind at their best, with songs ranging from forceful to quiet, from industrial-tinged to melodious, often within one song and with singer AARON LEWIS' instantly recognizable voice heartfelt and fervent. Lyrically, Lewis isn't afraid to look deep, and what he finds the good, bad and uglyis translated into soul-baring songs that he often agonizes over. 'I'm my own worst critic,' Lewis admits. 'The personal songs; it's a way for me to get those things out, because I wouldn't feel comfortable saying them to anyone. I'm pretty bad about being an internalist. I hold everything down and then explode. It's better for everyone around me that I put that explosion down into lyrics rather than just exploding on somebody.'

A wikipedia history of Staind
On June 30, 2008, Staind's new single "Believe" will be released to radio.
Early days
Staind formed on November 24, 1995 in Springfield, Massachusetts. After meeting through friends and covering KoRn, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains, among others, in smalltime clubs for a year and a half, Staind self-released their debut album, Tormented, in November 1996, citing influences Pantera and Sepultura. Until recently, the album was difficult to obtain, as only four thousand copies were originally sold. Since then, the band's official website has released the album to meet the demand from fans.
During this time, Staind played a show with Limp Bizkit. When Fred Durst saw the controversial cover of the group's debut album, he tried to have the band kicked off the bill, but when he saw the band's live show, he changed his tone and befriended them, later singing backup on Aaron Lewis's live, original version of the future Staind song "Outside." Durst was one of the executive producers for Dysfunction and Break the Cycle. He also directed a few videos for the band later on.

Dysfunction is alternative metal band Staind's second studio album
their first release under the Flip/Elektra label
The album's artwork is also worth noting as it reflects the album's title. All four band members are depicted with dysfunctional properties related to their position in the band; Aaron (vocalist) is shown without a mouth, Mike (guitarist) is shown with webbed hands, Johnny (bassist) is shown with only one arm and Jon (drums and percussion) is shown with no eyes. Finally the most obvious reference to the album's title is on the cover; the clown's reflection is incorrect.
Dysfunction contains a hidden track called "Excess Baggage," included after a long period of silence at the end of "Spleen."
