Stainless Steel Teapots - For The Sophisticated Tea Drinker
There is something classy about looking at stainless steel teapots. They look clean and shiny and they just look good to be seen. Of course teapots are made from different materials of which stainless steel is only one. I own a stainless steel teapot. The reason I bought one of these is because I like drinking tea, and I like the taste that comes from my teapot.
This lens is about the virtues of stainless steel teapots.

Stainless Steel Teapots - How Does The Tea Taste?
I care enough about this beverage to want to enjoy the drink at its best. Believe it or not, the teapot you brew the tea in does make a difference to the taste of the tea. There are a few other variables in play as well, such as the quality of your fresh water, the type and brand of tea chosen, and the length of time the tea is brewed. If you can get these to your liking you have the perfect cup of tea.
It also matters what type of cup you drink the tea from. I chose bone china because I believe the tea tastes better from a cup made from bone china. But why choose stainless steel teapots in preference to any other type? It is simply down to personal preference. Taking into consideration all the variable mentioned above, I believe my tea tastes better when brewed in a stainless steel teapot.

Brushed Stainless Steel Teapot and Kettles
If you want something different to the shiny finish of an ordinary stainless steel teapot why not have a look at a brushed stainless steel teapot, which has a matt finish as opposed to shiny. The advantage of brushed steel is you don't have to constantly clean it as it tends to stay cleaner looking for longer. The same care is needed to avoid using materials which could scratch the surface of the brushed stainless steel finish.

Stainless Steel Teapots - For That Special Cup Of Tea
Some tea pots have infusers that come with the teapot, so it means you are not left with a pile of tea leaves when you drain the teapot dry. Clean up is faster if you have one with an infuser.
There are teapots made from bone china, porcelain, and other materials, and these all affect how the tea tastes. If you like your tea and have yet to find that perfect cup of tea why not try a brew made from a stainless steel teapot and see for yourself how good the tea tastes.
What I like about my stainless steel teapot is that the lid is hinged, so I cannot take it off and lose it or break it even, because it is made of metal. I know I cannot break the spout either, for the same reason. All you need to do with these teapots is keep them looking at their best, which is not difficult, and you will likely have a teapot which will last you a long time.

The advantage of one of these gadgets is that you can better control the length of time the tea is allowed to be steeped, and more importantly, the basket can be easily removed at a time of your choosing. It certainly beats trying to retrieve teabags with a spoon, or straining all the tea from the pot at one go using a tea strainer.
If you enjoy drinking tea made from loose tea, then this is a must have. It saves a lot of mess, and used tea leaves can be conveniently disposed by emptying the infuser in one go.

Cleaning A Stainless Steel Teapot
Stainless steel teapots can stain inside and begin to look a bit grubby on the outside as well. Cleaning the outside of the teapot is quite easy because the surface of the teapot is smooth.
What I normally do is wipe the outside with a soapy sponge using warm water. I use ordinary washing up liquid for this job, and the teapot comes up like new. Avoid using anything abrasive around your stainless steel teapot as this may scratch it.
The inside of the teapot does get stained as well, but I leave this alone. Some people use a mixture of vinegar and water to clean it. The only problem is the residual taste of vinegar it leaves after the cleaning, which is why I prefer to leave the inside of the teapot alone.

- I just love teapots, most of them, but stainless steel teapots have a special flavour that reminds me from breakfast in hotels when I was a child.

- I have a stainless steel tea kettle ... for heating water but not for brewing tea. I use an infuser in my cup for making tea. These are lovely teapots and I agree to not use vinegar to clean the inside.
