The Time Has Come To Save Humanity
The hero's name is Edge Maverick, while the heroine is named Reimi Saionji. The game will have more of a sci-fi emphasis than past titles with players having the ability to control their own ship. Your ship is quite large, and you will be able to land on at least 5 planets or other space-based destinations. One will be able to travel through the "star ocean," jumping across planets. (continue)

Microsoft must be really bored with owning the PC market. Now they want to extend their monopoly into video games. Their latest push? An Xbox 360 truck carrying LCD TVs hooked up with Xbox 360 games. I guess a sexy cosplayer dressed up as Reimi from Star Ocean doesn't hurt either.
There was also a cosplayer dressed as Reimi from Star Ocean 4.

Poll: What is the Better RPG style?
Ok, so this topic obviously divides alot of people that are fans of the RPG genre.
Some standouts from the JRPG style of games are: Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and some very good, but older Square games like Chrono Tigger etc. On the WRPG side we have the KOTOR series, and the Fable series. In my short existence I've enjoyed many a RPG, even though I've not finished many. They used to be so plentiful, that I couldn't finish one before another good one came out.

Star Ocean 4 or Lost Odyssey?
A lot of fans will have a really hard time deciding which RPG to buy. I don't really mind that both games have long load times or that you have to switch discs in either. While these detract somewhat from the overall experience, I'm mostly interested in the debate from a gameplay, character and story development arc. It's been a while since I've played a traditional JRPG game but I love the sci-fi genre of games so SO4 is high on my radar.

LO has the best turn-based combat since the early Final Fantasy games, has great character development, good script and voice acting, and an emotional and philosophical depth not often seen in games. As for SO4, I just started playing it yesterday, and so far so good. You can't go wrong with either one though.

- Sqaure Enix has told IGN that there are currently "no plans" for a PlayStation 3 release. This doesn't mean SOTLH won't ever come to the PS3, but don't believe the rumors of a 2009 release date.
- Do I have to play the other star oceans games to understand this one?
- Each story is different and is it's own, so no you don't have to beat the others to understand this one. That said, this is the first game in the timeline and playing the other games in the universe will give you a complete appreciation for the series.
- How do I earn the "take no damage five times in a row" Battle Trophy?
- You can get this trophy the same way that you get Reimi's trophies that are similar. You should have 100% nullify of a specific element on your equipment. The Great Solar Phoenix in the colosseum is my favorite enemy for this because it casts Plasma Cyclone.
