Star Trek is a TV series that aired three seasons on NBC from September 8, 1966, to June 3, 1969.
The main Star Trek characters are James T. Kirk (William Shatner), Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), and chief medical officer Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley). Lets not forget about Sulu (George Takei), Walter Koenig (Ensign Pavel Chekov), Nichelle Nichols (Communications Officer Lieutenant Uhura), James Doohan (Chief Engineer Scotty), and Majel Barrett (Nurse Christine Chapel, she was also the voice of the computer most of the time throughout the Star Trek series).

Star Trek Pilot "The Cage"
The Star Trek pilot episode "The Cage" (1964) was completed in 1965. The original air date was not until October 15, 1988. This episode did not star William Shatner, but instead Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike. It also starred Majel Barrett and Leonard Nimoy as Spock.
In "The Cage", the Enterprise responds to a distress call from a planet with a race called the Talosians. Captain Pike is captured and undergoes a series of illusions to interest him in a woman on the planet. The woman, Vina, is very beautiful to Pike. Pike catches on to the illusions and uses the animal instinct in him to fight the Talosians. The Talosians finally give up and let Pike go, as they think humans are too violent. He then finds out that Vina was scarred in a wreck that brought her to the planet. The Talosians were using illusions to make Vina beautiful.

In this episode The Enterprise picks up a teen that seems to have strange powers. He falls in love with Yeoman Janice Rand, which is the first woman he has seen. When she rejects him he starts to act like a immature child. He then takes control of the Enterprise. Finally his alien parents release the Enterprise and take Charlie with them.

Episode 3 "Where No Man Has Gone Before"
The Star Trek Season One Episode 3 "Where No Man Has Gone Before", which was also the second pilot, first aired on September 22, 1966.
This episode is about 2 crew members developing dangerous psychic powers. The Enterprise recovers the black box to another Starfleet ship called the Valiant. Kirk wants to know what happened to the Valiant, so they go to the edge of the galaxy. A strange cloud starts to cause electrical problems on the Enterprise. Two crewman, Mitchel and a woman, are struck by an electrical bolt, which causes their eyes to glow. Mitchell's powers start to grow. When Mitchell starts to act "god like", Kirk is worried that he will take over the ship. Kirk beams the two crewman down to a planet where Mitchell and Kirk battle it out. Kirk defeats Mitchell, and both Mitchell and the woman are killed. The woman is killed when Mitchell shocks her with a bolt of electricity. Kirk then returns to the Enterprise.

Episode 4 "The Naked Time"

Some of the crew from the Enterprise are beamed down to a research station in which everyone is dead. One of the crewman comes in contact with the virus on the planet which causes him to act strangely. The affliction continues to spread and affect the crew on the ship, causing them to act in a "dunk like" state. One crewman takes over the controls, and the Enterprise is drifting slowly on a collision course toward the planet below. Finally Captain Kirk regains control of the Enterprise and Dr. McCoy develops a antidote for the affliction.

He is covered with a substance on his uniform when he beams back to the Enterprise. After that, the transporter starts to malfunction. Captain Kirk beams back to the Enterprise and starts to feel weak. Scotty helps him to sick bay, when another Kirk appears in the transporter. Now there are 2 Kirks, one good and one bad. Somehow Kirk's personalities split in the transporter. The bad Kirk starts drinking and attacks Yeoman Rand. Finally Spock and Kirk find the bad Kirk and take him to sickbay. In the meantime the rest of the expedition is stranded on the freezing surface of the planet below. The temperature then drops to below zero, endangering the crewman's lives. In the end, the good Kirk uses the transporter to combine the Kirks back as the original Captain Kirk, and the crewman below are beamed back to the Enterprise.

The Enterprise rescues the crew of a small ship which is in danger of exploding. They beam a conman named Harry Mudd aboard along with three beautiful women. The small ship then explodes. It turns out that Mudd is a wanted criminal in different star systems. The Enterprise is then in need for lithium crystals. They make a course for a lithium mining facility on planet not far away. Mudd uses a stolen communication device to prearrange an agreement with the three miners on the planet for the women. It turns out that Mudd gives the women a pill that makes them beautiful, but it only lasts for certain amount of time. The women's faces are scarred and unattractive. In the meantime Kirk is having a hard time getting the crystals the Enterprise needs from the miners. They want the women in exchange for the crystals, but Kirk says no. In the end, the women become beautiful on their own and stay with the miners on their own decision. The Enterprise then gets the lithium crystals it needs.

Star Trek Season One Episode 7 "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" originally aired on October 20, 1966.
This episode is about Nurse Chapel searching for her lost fiance', Dr. Roger Korby. The Enterprise then finds him on a planet with androids. It turns out that her fiance' died and transferred his mind to a android that looks just like him. He is producing androids that are duplicates of humans. He imprisons Kirk and makes an android duplicate of him, which is beamed to the Enterprise to take the Enterprise to another planet to spread android duplicates. In the meantime, Kirk convinces the android guarding him that his master must be destroyed. In the end, Korby is destroyed and everyone returns to the Enterprise.

In this episode the Enterprise follows a distress call to a planet that is an exact duplicate of the Earth. When they beam down, they find that there are no adults on the planet. There are only children. The crewman then start to show symptoms of a disease and have only have 7 days to live. It turns out that when the children reach puberty, they contract this disease. In the end Dr McCoy makes a serum that fights off the disease. They then send adults to the planet and help the children start new lives.

The Enterprise makes a supply run to a rehabilitation facility. When the crew beams down they find out that Dr. Adams is insane and is using a machine to control the inmates and the staff. The planet is protected by a force field, which is preventing the crew of the Enterprise from beaming anyone down or up. In the end, the force field is disabled and Dr. Van Gelder then takes back control of the rehabilitation facility, and destroys the mind machine.

"The Corbomite Maneuver" is about the Enterprise finding a massive ship that will not negotiate. The large ship explains to Kirk that the Enterprise must be destroyed. In the meantime, Bailey, the navigator is having a nervous breakdown over the matter. Captain Kirk then relieves him of duty. A smaller ship breaks away from the larger ship and attempts to tow the Enterprise to a distant planet. After calming down, Bailey returns to the bridge and asks if he can resume his duties. Captain Kirk says yes. The Enterprise then resists and finally breaks away from the tow ship. The tow ship is disabled and starts to call for help. Dr. McCoy, Kirk, and Bailey beam aboard to find a small child like alien named Balok in control. Balok was testing the Enterprise. He just wanted to know the true intentions of the Enterprise. Balok invites one of the crewman to stay aboard so that they can exchange knowledge. Bailey volunteers to stay, and Kirk and McCoy take a tour of Balok's ship.

Star Trek Season One Episode 11 "The Menagerie Part 1" first aired on November 17, 1966.
Spock is getting a distress call from Captain Pike. Captain Pike wants to go back to Talos IV. Talos IV was the planet on the pilot episode "The Cage", where Pike was kept prisoner with a beautiful woman. Spock is still loyal to Captain Pike, which he served for 11 years previously. It turns out the the distress call that Spock is getting is actually coming from the planet Talos IV, not Captain Pike. Spock takes over the Enterprise to get Pike back to Talos IV. In the meantime, Spock turns himself in, while the Enterprise is still on track for Talos IV. Spock is then put on trial aboard the Enterprise.

Starleet has designated the planet Talos IV off limits since the previous experience in the episode, "The Cage". Kirk continues with the trial of Spock aboard the Enterprise. The whole time during the trial the Talosians created an image of Commodore Mendez so that Kirk has to hear Pike's story. In the end, Pike goes to Talon IV and is put back to a healthy state. He is reunited with the beautiful woman Vina. Pike stays on Talos IV. Spock is cleared of all wrong doing and the Enterprise returns to Earth.

Episode 13 "The Conscience of the King"
Star Trek Season One Episode 13 "The Conscience of the King" first aired on December 8, 1966.
"The Conscience of the King" is about Kirk suspecting a Shakespearean actor who may actually be a murderer. Kirk discovers Anton Karidian as the head of a Shakespearean acting group on the planet below. Karidian is suspected of killing thousands of people on a planet of which he was a governor. There are only a few witness left who can identify him, including Kirk. Karidian has a beautiful daughter named Lenore, which Kirk starts to become attracted to. In the meantime each of the witnesses are turning up dead. Kirk suspects Karidian for the crimes, but it turns out it is his daughter committing the murders. She seems to be in a state of insanity. She is trying to protect her father. Karidian steps into the line of fire to protect his daughter and dies. Lenore then is admitted to a mental hospital.

This episode is about the Enterprise encountering a Romulan vessel with a cloaking device. Kirk is in a battle with a ship he cannot see, but is victorious. The Romulan ship may be invisible, but the Enterprise is more maneuverable. Finally the Romulan ship is disabled, and Kirk offers to help the commander of the Romulan ship. The commander refuses Kirk's help. The commander of the Romulan ship then triggers a self destruct device which blows up the disabled Romulan ship.

They are scouting the planet before beaming down the crew, which is in need of rest and relaxation. Suddenly Dr. McCoy sees a large white rabbit, which disappears into some brush. Following him is a small girl, which looks like Alice in Alice in Wonderland. McCoy then tells Kirk, who is still aboard the Enterprise, what he saw. Spock convinces Kirk he is in need of rest and talks him into going to the surface. In the meantime there are other crew members on the planet which are seeing illusions as well. Captain Kirk sees a former girlfriend and a former rival of his from Starfleet academy. Dr McCoy appears to have been killed by a knight on a horse. These all turn out to be illusions. The Enterprise shuttle called the Galileo is dispatched to bring much needed medical supplies to a nearby planet. Suddenly the shuttle is pulled off course. The shuttle crash lands on a planet with giant beings. One of the crew is killed by one of the giant's spears. In the meantime, the crew is trying to make repairs to the shuttle. Some of the crew may not be able to return to the Enterprise leaving Spock to decide who lives and who dies on the planet with the giant creatures. Spock instead then decides to ignite the remaining fuel on fire, which gets the attention of the Enterprise. Kirk then beams the remaining crew aboard the Enterprise.

The Star Trek Season One Episode 17 "The Squire of Gothos" first aired on January 12, 1967.
The Enterprise is on a journey to a bring supplies to a planet when all of a sudden Kirk and Sulu are transported off the bridge of the Enterprise. They meet an irritating being named Trelane. Trelane is imprisoning the Enterprise and crew for his amusement. It turns out the Trelane is using a machine that creates his powers. The crew disables the machine and beams back to the Enterprise. It turns out that Trelane has parents, which apologize to the crew and then takes Trelane back with them.

The Enterprise comes in contact with a race called the Metrons. The Metrons beam Kirk and the commander of a Gorn ship to a planet's surface where they are to battle to the death. kirk defeats the Gorn, but spares his life. The Metrons are impressed by Kirk's behavior and congratulate him. The Metrons tell Kirk to have the humans seek out the Metrons in a few hundred years. The Metrons inform Kirk that there is hope for the human race.
The Enterprise comes in contact with a race called the Metrons. The Metrons beam Kirk and the commander of a Gorn ship to a planet's surface where they are to battle to the death. kirk defeats the Gorn, but spares his life. The Metrons are impressed by Kirk's behavior and congratulate him. The Metrons tell Kirk to have the humans seek out the Metrons in a few hundred years. The Metrons inform Kirk that there is hope for the human race.
