Almost everyone alive today has heard of Star Trek. The vast legions of fans around the world have made this the most successful franchise in Hollywood. What started as one simple show created by Gene Roddenberry has grown to include five different TV shows, an animated TV series, eleven feature films, dozens of different games, and hundreds of full length novels. No to mention the comic books, action figures, and other collectibles. There is also a very active fanfiction community devoted to continuing the stories of their favorite characters in their own unique way. It's been 45 years since the original series debuted, and with the recent relaunch of the series with the latest movie, there are no signs of this cult phenomenon slowing down anytime soon.

This lens is devoted one of the latest fan movements in demanding that another Star Trek TV series be created. This began in 2010 with fans asking that CBS, (who holds the copyright to the franchise), continue the legacy with a series called Star Trek: Titan. This new series would follow the adventures of the USS Titan under the command of Captain William T. Riker.

We hope to gather 1,000,000 fans on the facebook page that has been set up for this cause. We are also collecting signatures for a petition to present to CBS in hopes of getting our wish. Again, the target for this petition is 1,000,000 signatures. Through venues such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Tumblr, Blogger and now Squidoo we are working hard to reach our goal. It is our sincere wish that all of you will join us in this endeavor. A website is also in the early stages of development.

The History of the USS Titan

In the final ST: TNG movie Nemesis, fans learned that Commander Riker had finally been promoted to the rank of Captain and accepted his first assignment aboard to command the USS Titan. This series will start after the movie takes place with Capt. Riker and his wife Deanna Troi-Riker on the new ship.
